Question about Akai LCT2785TA 27 in. LCD Television

Open Question

Ant 1 air Ant 2 cable

I plugged in the tv and the cable connection, but I only get local (air) channels 1-13. The owners manual says that antenna 2 is for air or cable, but I only see one cable connection on the back of the TV and I have connected it to the cable connection in the wall. How do I connect it to "Ant. 2 cable" to get the cable channels?

You don't mention using your SOURCE button to select HDMI.You have to put your akai in the right source selection by using the source button on the remote or the source button on the right side of the TV. I hope this helps. SW

I called RCA's 800 number on the back of the owner manual--got a response that said to replace the unit since only the up-down channel changer buttons were not working. Using another remote (universal) now--cost only $5.

SOURCE: Can't get digital channels on 37

Bob,

Are you certain you've connectet the antenna coaxial cable correctly?

There's 2 of them on this TV, one for digital and one for analog/cable connections, make sure you're connected to the correct input for digital TV.

If you're certain you've got it connected correctly then your problem is going to most likely be in the TV tuner board inside the TV.

Good Luck!

How do I attach an antennna?

On the back of the TV look for the connector marked Ant/cable. This is a silver connection with threads on it. If you have a digital indoor antenna, connect it there. Same goes if you have an outdoor antenna. Now go to the setup screen and select AIR for antenna type. After that do a channel search and select digital and analog channels. Let the TV find all the stations it can. When it's done searching, it will show a picture. You may need to aim the antenna to get a better picture .

It's in the channel programming menu. It should say, "Cable/Ant" or "Cable/Air" If you want a roof antenna with local channels, change it to "Air/Ant" Then click auto program with the antenna hooked to it to scan for free local channels.

Go to the customer menu and switch the set from air-antenna to cable.

The set is in the air band and not the cable band hence only channels 2-13.

I cannot get regular tv to come in and my antenna is hooked up properly

Here is a few suggestions:

1) Make sure the tv's vide mode is in "TV" or "ANT" or "Antenna" some times even referred as "Off Air"
2) In the TV's settings make sure a "Channel Scan" has been performed to tell the TV which channels are available in your area. If this is not done you won't be able to select any channels. Also make sure that the antenna is of the right impedance (i.e. 52ohms) check your manual and see what your TV accepts.
3) Make sure that you are using coxial cable connection and not RCA or HDMI connections as these connections are not designed for an over the air antenna.

How to program with cable using remote

Hello

1 Find and disconnect the cable that is connected to the

ANT IN terminal on your cable box.

? This terminal might be labeled "ANT IN", "VHF IN" or

simply, "IN".

2 Connect this cable to a two-way splitter.

3 Connect an Antenna cable between an OUT terminal on

the splitter and the IN terminal on the cable box.

4 Connect an Antenna cable between the ANT OUT terminal

on the cable box and the B-IN terminal on the RF(A/B)
switch.

5 Connect another cable between the other OUT terminal on

the splitter and the A-IN terminal on the RF (A/B) switch.

6 Connect the last Antenna cable between the OUT terminal

on the RF (A/B) switch and the ANT IN (AIR/CABLE)

terminal on the back of the TV.

After you have made this connection, set the A/B switch to the

"A" position for normal viewing. Set the A/B switch to the "B"

position to view scrambled channels. (When you set the A/B

switch to "B", you will need to tune your TV to the cable box's
output channel, which is usually channel 3 or 4.)

I have a Sanyo DP32648 that keeps losing only one channel in the program. When the TV is turned off, that channel disappears from the program. I have to manually reboot the entire list. How can I solve...

It sounds like there is some electrical noise interference that would not be "fixable". If though, we reconfigure the way that they are connected together, we may be able to avoid the noise.

Instead of allowing the antenna signal to "pass through" the 625 we will skip it.

After following the directions, switching between satellite and antenna will be done by selecting on the SANYO "Input 1" for satellite, and selecting "Ant" for antenna. K?

Try this:

From the 625 Tuner 1- using RCA cables (a.k.a. composite cables, or red, white, yellow cable), connect to "Input 1" on the Sanyo TV. To see composite cables go to http://www.wowvision.tv/settingsandconnections.htm

Next, remove the coaxial cable between the Sat box and TV. (Sanyo "Ant. In" port and 625 "Out to TV" port) Set that cable aside.

Now, remove the incoming antenna cable from the 625 "Ant. In" port, and connect it to the Sanyo's "Antenna In" port.

Finally, scan for channels and check for the presence of CBS.

Once verified, test the TV by turning off and on.

Turn on the satellite receiver and switch Sanyo to "Input 1" to verify sat picture.

I believe this solution will satisfy your needs. Please let me know if it doesn't work, and I will need to talk to you about signal strengths, again.

God bless,
Highdefjeff

Describe how to program channels on lg tv

Very simple -
You will need to find a feature that says 'Auto Tune'

This first will ask you to select between:
1) Regular TV - off air antenna - connection
2) Cable TV - connection
3) DSS TV - Connection

If you aren't ready for digital TV with your antenna or cable you may get very few channels.

I have cable and when i plug it into my tv i only

The tv will only process cable channels when set to 'ant cable' . After the scan, you should be able to view all channels provided on the frequency.
If you want more cable #'s, you will have to pay for those or get a cable box. If you don't find your local channels in the lineup, you will have to use a switcher, or hassle with unplugging and plugging the antenna. This is true for ATSC broadcasts. Please give feedback if this helps. Or tell me more.

For channel setup you will need to;
1) Connect the signal source to the back of the set.(Antenna or Cable)
2) Go into the TV Menu and select the same signal source you connected to the back.(Antenna or Cable)
3) Go to the auto program/scan menu and run it. This may take a few minutes.

Now the channels may be watched.
