Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

On my 2003 Gateway 700 Office PC, which came with Windows XP Home Edition, I am having trouble with my Internet Explorer Browser. Sometimes it works fine. About half the time, though, it only partially downloads, and never gets to my home page. Shutting down the computer and starting over sometimes allows me to download it successfully, sometimes not. Sometimes waiting till the next day to try works. And sometimes when I am able to access it, the service deteriorates to the point that it is not reponding to any of my input commands. Please help me--what do I need to do. My phone number is 540-798-2137. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Roger Wilson

The information that you have given it implies the following reasons all of them or some combination of them
(1) Your Windows or Anti virus firewall is turned on
(1)Registry of your Windows is corrupt
(2) You have one or more Viruses in your machine
(3)Some how the internet Explorer got corrupt
These are the main reason. It is very important that you disable the at least Windows Firewall. Here how to do it. Go to "My Network" icon and right click it and on the pop up menu go to properties tan and click it. A new Windows containing your Internet connection will open. Right click it and again go to properties tab and click it. A Windows will open and you will find a tab called Advance and then click it and then you will see a settings tab and after clicking it select "Off(Not recommended)" and the click OK and OK another time the Windows firewall will be disabled.
Go to the following URL on Microsoft and download a software for your Internet Explorer call Fix it. On this page you should see a large tab saying "RUN IT" click it and download your software run on your PC and it should fix many bugs from your browser

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/ie_performance_and_safety
You should download a good registry cleaner and a good well updated Anti virus software always installed on your computer if you do not already have them.

My Gateway 504 GR won't play WSOP or most Reel Slot games. How can i play newer games on my pc? 2002 version Windows XP Home, 915 chipset, Intel proc. 4 cpu 3.00GHZ 512mb 3000mhz. Thanks

Hello there,
The image below indicates the minimum and recommended system requirements of WSOP most probably you will be able to play the game. The problem might be your Adobe Flash Player or your Internet Explorer version. If your Windows Xp Home is genuine you might consider updating or download a Mozilla Firefox.
The links for Adobe and Firefox are located below the image.
pcsyke_98.jpg

Flash Player
Mozilla Browser
From what I know Windows XP by default have an Internet Explorer v.6.0 that is why you need to update your Windows. by the way you have to download Flash player if you have Internet Explorer v.7. if this does not work try the step below
1. Download the Mozilla Firefox browser and install setup 5.0.1exe. 2. Download Flash Player it will automatically update your Flash.

Hopefully this information helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

When I try to open internet explorer an error box pops up saying There is a problem with internet explorer and this has to close.

Internet Explorer would sometimes act like this when you have multiple toolbars or addons installed. Try this:

- Go to the control panel
- Go to internet options
- Go to the programs tab and click on manage addons
- Disable all unnecessary addons

This must work
