Question about Kenmore Refrigerators

Open Question

We have a Kenmore Coldspot 106.53532300. Ice is freezing around the fan. Water seems to be coming from somewhere along the back wall and down into the fan and freezing. We have emptied the ice tray and turned off ice maker and still end up with ice on the fan. Any suggestions??

check to make sure the water hasn't frozen in the tube that it should fill the tray with. Please let me know if this isn't the problem and I can further assist you. If frozen, you should thaw out the freezer to get it working again.

Good luck

these have to be in correctly to lock back in and allow the unit to function. Try removing the bin again and be sure there isn't any small pieces of ice trapped anywhere. Also make sure there aren't any broken pieces from the bin. Hope this helps. Good luck.

SOURCE: Kenmore Coldspot with 106 626636 ice maker. The

Hello,

A frost build up, specially on the ceiling of the freezer, is a sign of problem in the self defrosting system or damaged gaskets of the doors. Therefore, check if the refrigerator is facing such a problem and defrost the refrigerator. It would not cool well if the defrosting is not happening properly.

Take care.

SOURCE: Ice maker stopped working...water works, ice tray

If your ice maker is not making ice and you poured water into the ice maker, that would indicate the ice maker is not cycling. If you have any make or model except a whirlpool, kitchenaid or sears kenmore, if you replace the ice maker, you will be making ice in no time. If you have one of the aforementioned brands, AND the ice BUCKET is mounted on the door, you will have to replace the electric eye boards on either side wall as well, as these often short, damaging the icemaker electronics in the process.

Ice maker in kenmore coldspot refrigerator quit making ice, nowater flow

There are several causes of no ice maker operation. First, is the freezer cold enough? It must be below 32F to operate the icemaker. 2nd: Is the bale or metal rod that runs along the side of the ice maker in the down position? 3rd: You may have a failed water solenoid valve, located on the back of the unit. The plastic or copper water line from your house's water supply is attached to this valve.

I have a kenmore elite side by side refrigerator coldspot model 50599003. It is leaking water from somewhere underneath..I was.told it could be a water valve..It is not leaking from the supply line...

Are there 3 numbers missing in that model number? Something is missing in that model number somewhere. This could be several possibilities causing the water leak. A defrost condensate pan may have a crack or the union just behind the kick plate going to the dispenser from bottom of refrigerator may be leaking. Or this could be the result of a defrost drain blockage inside the freezer having a defrost drain blockage problem. Most defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. This is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down ther rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian He has been around a good bit and deserves credit for his contributions. Here is another way to make this look more si mple in clip below. TechnicianBrian.com And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! This is a common tip so I will be placing this post and add as we go new ideas listed in Sea Breeze Tips Section. If you run into any problems along the way of repair please let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

The model number should be like this=> 321.236589 Let me know if you can because that number is not coming up, Thanks Sea Breeze

KENMORE COLDSPOT MODEL10652212104 THE FAN IN THE FREEZER DOESNT SEEM TO RUN, DOESNT FREEZE ICE EITHER BUT IT DOES HAVE WATER IN THE ICE TRAY. THE REFRIG PART DOEN GET COLD EITHER WE REPLACED THE VAVLE...

Hi, if the fan, evaporator fan is not running, it has failed on you. If you are up to doing this kind of work, you can replace it your self. It is a 120 volt evaporator fan motor, and if you can get it out, take it with you along with the name of the unit, model & serial # to an appliance parts house to get one. If they don't have the exact one, they have universal ones that will fit. This will solve your problem.

It's a Kenmore Coldspot that was manufactured in 1998. There's a tube that gets plugged, water freezes underneath the shelf in the freezer and water starts dripping down into the main chamber. I cannot...

The tube is located in the bottom of the freezer compartment under the coils. To access it, remove the back panel and then the floor of the freezer. Remove all of the ice. Melt the ice that is clogging your drain tube. You should see the drain tube somewhere along the bottom of the back wall. I use my wife's hair dryer or hot water when I do this to my refrigerator.

Icemaker does not make ice. Water is still coming

Maybe the heater that releases the ice is malfucntioning. If the heater comes on all to often, the ice would not have enough time to freeze.

LG LRFC22750 Bottom freezer french door refrigerator

6343ed3.jpg The problem is ice build up on the back wall. The noise you hear is the fan blades hitting the ice. On the back wall water gets trapped, it then builds up over time, and a big ball of ice forms and blocks the fan. Take off the back wall, defrost the build up and cut the insulation off as above. The water will no longer get trapped and the problem will not come back.

Kenmore Coldsport freezer drain repeated freezes

probably the easiest fix for this is install a drain probe to transfer heat from the defrost heater into the drain hole to prevent ice build up. take a peice of 10 or 12 guage solid copper wire and wrap one end around the defrost heater pretty tight and put the other end down in the drain line 2-4 inches.
