I believe you have to press down on the start button and hold it till the time it's set at appears. Then you can change the time. If that does not work, then unplug for a minute then plug back in. -Tom

Dryer stops when clothes still wet

Check and make sure that the hose leading out of the dryer is clean and clear. Clogs will make the dryer not work to its full potential. Also make sure that the heating element is not going out on the dryer.

I also just experienced this problem. I disassembled the dryer to replace the belt and motor, and after reassembling everything, making sure all wires were connected, the dryer would turn on but no drying level displayed

Too many rpms, how do i slow my dryer down? t731

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

The first thing which comes to mind is this, have you brought this machine into north america from overseas ?

I ask because this is a problem which can manifest from the motor operating on 60hz cycle but designed for a 50hz cycle.

The drum will actually spins too fast hence the items don`t tumble but rather stay pushed to the perimeter of the drum...thus not drying.

If you open the door and run the dryer, the drum on an Asko T731 dryer should rotate at 52rpm. I use a piece of tape on the drum to keep count.

Let me know what you find and we`ll go from there.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

It will run for 15 minutes then shut off. I restart it and it does the same. The lint trap is clean and when I open the door its not overheated.

it will start fine after it shuts off?
is there a delay? any humming before it starts? how many cycles do you have? does it work on one side but not the other? timed dry versus auto dry? sounds like your timer to me.

Dryer overheats and shuts off- vents have been cleaned and button on back has not reset

Common problem.
You probably need to clean
your dryer vent. Dryer vents
should be cleaned every couple of years to
prevent them from being clogged with lint. You can check the air-flow by going outside where the vents terminate. What's probably happening is on sensor dry, there's a moister sensor that tells the machine to shut off when there's no moister. The hot is is being pushed back into the dryer and confusing the sensor. That's why it's working on timer dryer because that option bypasses the moisture sensor.

I'm pretty sure that's it. Good luck.
