Question about Symbol MC70

Open Question

I need Windows CE 5 restore/recovery image for the Symbol MC7090. I cannot find this anywhere not even on Motorola's website. My MC7090 startup to the boot screen and hangs there because some files are missing. A warm reboot and a cold reboot does nothing. I need the recovery image to reflash the unit and bring it back to life. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi i go to load windows n it comes up corrupt n error code OxOOOO14c n wont let me do anything wont even let me load my recovery disc or windows support disc

You mean error Oxcoooo14c? That means your system registry is corrupt, or even missing.

You can try this; and how to get Recovery Media info is also included:

Download the ISO file at the supplied link, and make a Bootable Startup Repair Disk from it.

Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.

At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert that Bootable Disk you have made in the Drive, and reboot.

Above link shows what the process looks like, and a how-to, as it loads to the Repair Options.

Neosmart contains the contents of the Windows Vista DVD's "recovery center," as we've come to refer to it. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and just serves as a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, one could re-create this installation media with freely-downloadable media from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK kit, a multi-gigabyte download); but it's damn-decent of Microsoft to make this available to Windows' users who might not be capable of creating such a thing on their own.

Read all info at the website about creating and using it.

ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It makes a very good Vista Startup Repair Disk.

You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc from it.

It is NOT a reinstall disk.

And the 32bit is what comes normally on a computer, unless 64bits requested.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How to obtain Vista recovery Media and/or use the Vista Recovery Partition on your computer to put it back to Factory Settings.
There is no legal free Vista download available.
Contact your Computer Manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of Vista Recovery disk/s.
They normally do that for a small $ cost.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Also, ask them if you have a Recovery Partition on your Computer/Laptop to restore it to Factory settings.
See if a Manual came with the computer, or go to the Manufacturer's website, email or phone them for info on how to do a Recovery.

Normally, you would press F10 or F11 at Startup to commence the Recovery Process..

Another way I have seen on some models is to tap F8, and go to a list of Startup options, and start a Factory Standards Recovery from in there, by selecting the Repair computer option.

Try the F8 Option to get into Safe Mode and try to do a System Restore:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/
Do System Restore in Safe Mode, if unable to do it in Normal Mode.
Try tapping F8 at startup, and from the list of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there > then hit Enter.

Try a System Restore once there, to pick a Restore Point before your problem..

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > pick a different time > Next > etc

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If that does not work > Try the Recovery disk to do a Startup Repair/System Restore > if that fails, reinstall Vista.
Toshiba satellite L300 will not boot up. error code 0xc00000e9
What you can do is attempt to repair the system using System Restore or startup repair. I would suggest trying startup repair first.
Method 1: Use the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to run System Restore
======================================================
1. Insert the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.
3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next
6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on System Restore.
7. Follow the System Restore Wizard instruction as usual and choose the appropriate restore point.
8. Click Finish to restore the system.
Method 2: Startup Repair from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
======================================================
1. Insert the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.
3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.
6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.
7. (Click the operating system that you want to repair), and then click Next.
8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.
Hope this helps
Motorola mc7090 bought faulty fixed problem but now when i start up it goes to preinstalled supermarket operating System . How can i put new windows or other OS on the unit. thanks
Hello kjexpert,
just download the OS Update files for MC70 from support.symbol.com and follow the instructions. As you are not able to access the OS now, you would need an SD Card to proceed with the update.
Or to make it more easy, install an remote control software like Sparus Control, then can you view the running processes in the device and kill the supermarket software.
Arm926ejs laptop freezes on startup
You will have to get your operating system reinstalled most likely. You may have a difficult time getting that done, unless you have the recovery disc for your computer. Your computer came from the factory with Windows CE on it. It's sort of a dumbed-down version of Windows XP. You could try to put Windows XP on it. If you can get it to take Windows XP, then it will probably work better anyway. You may be able to get the Windows CE disc from the laptop manufacturer. Try their website.
Hi my netbook is giving me this error on startup with Windows CE: application explorer.exe encountered a serious error and must shutdown. I do not know what to do and it does not allow me to do anything. ...
Is your CE netbook running CE Version 6? If so I can probably help, I have instructions on how to make a recovery "disk" on an SD card. Assuming all of these Chinese 7" "netbooks" are identical, this should restore you to factory-fresh status; I've had to use my recovery card five times so far, as these netbooks frequently dump the OS. I would have to send you a docx document (zipped). Are you still out there?
Handheld mc7090. trying to get into network settings but application keeps popping up and won't allow access to config
Connect device to pc using active sync and check application>startup and windows>startup for a lnk file that runs your application. copy this file to your desktop and delete it from the device. reboot the device and the issue should be now sorted. afterwards, place back the file on the folder where you have found it so the device will go back to starting the app automatically.
