Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How do I transfer contents of one file from another both on picasa

You highlight all the photos in one folder (cntrl + A is an easy way to do this), then click and drag that group to the desired folder icon shown on the folder views on the left.
Note: to click and drag the group, you can click and drag any single photo IN the group, the rest of the pictures will come along.
You may have to scroll the folder list on the left to find the folder you want to move the pics to.
I used the term folder for what you call 'file'. To me, file can also mean an individual item in a folder, so I just want to be clear.

Flashdrive keeps deleting

With all the hours and effort put into progressing in a video game, protecting your saved files becomes an important matter.

Creating a backup on a flash drive ensures that your game will be preserved. Having a copy is also handy if you get a new computer or if you merely want to keep your character safe for a sequel that allows you to import your progress from a previous game.

While you cannot save a game to a flash drive while playing, transferring or copying a saved game file to a flash drive is a simple process.

Locate the saved game files on your hard drive.
The location will depend on the game that you are playing (see Below)

Tips & Warnings

BioWare games save within the "BioWare" folder created in the My Documents folder.
Most games purchased through Steam will be saved under Program Files>Steam>Steam Apps>[Username.]

A Game independently installed will likely create its own folder within Program Files.
You may need to visit the game developer support site to help track down that game's specific location.
Open your flash drive.
Click and drag the entire saved game folder to the flash drive to make a copy.

Depending on the amount of file data, this may take a few minutes to complete.
Do not delete this folder on your hard drive or uninstall the game until you have verified that the saved game files work on other computers.

To transfer the saved game, plug the flash drive into a computer with the same game installed. Open your flash drive. In a separate window, open the same directory location where you found the saved game on the other computer.

Click and drag the saved game folder on your flash drive to the game folder on the new computer.
If a window pops up asking if you would like to overwrite similarly named files, click "Yes."

When i try to save excel files to desktop they aren't saving the latest version,...

Hi,

I don't think your computer is having an issue with capacity. I don't exactly know what the problem is, because it could be many things. However, if you want your Excel files on your desktop that you keep modifying, you can make a folder on your desktop, and then save them into that. It may be a good idea to delete each earlier one when you save new ones. Hope this helps!

Are you dragging and dropping files from the WD passport to a folder on your computer? If so which folder? It may be that you are trying to copy the files into a Windows system directory.
Try dragging and dropping the files to a folder on your Desktop or under My Documents.

Please leave feedback for this solution, thanks.

Hi I'am currently trying to set up my new Verbatim usb 3.0 super speed desktop hard drive and iam finding it difficult to instal nero back up and i dont have a clue as to save my pictures and music onto it...

For backups of music/pictures, you can either user windows backup tool.
Or if you want to choose more specific files then, create a new folder within you new external HD and name it 'Back Up' within this folder create some more folders say Documents, Music and Pictures.
From here navigate to the files/Folders you want to backup and right click and copy them, next head back over to you backup folder we created and paste the files to the relevant folder whether its music pictures or documents.
If you need more just ask.

hiya,

try this it may help you,. if it doesnt if you send an email to technohelp@live.co.uk with the operating system your running on your laptop....
STEP ONE: Determine where you will store your data. The very best place to keep data is on your H:/ (a.k.a. Home drive). This server (bonsai) keeps your data accessible to you at all times and is backed up on a daily basis. If your computer crashes it will NOT affect any data stored on this network drive. Your H drive is automatically mapped for you every time you log onto your NAU domain computer, so all you have to do is double-click your My Computer icon, then double-click the drive called "[userid] on 'bonsai.ucc.nau.edu'".
If you do not want to use your H drive, you can back up to a blank CD or to another hard drive.
STEP TWO: Determine what data you need to save.
Windows XP:
Most files are saved in the My Documents folder. The best way to view what folders are on your hard drive (and see your My Documents folder) is to RIGHT-CLICK on My Computer and choose Explore. Using the file structure on the left you can check the contents of the folders on your C drive. To find your My Documents folder, navigate to: Local Disk (C:) > Documents and Settings > your user name > My Documents. If there are several users make sure that you check with the other people who use the computer so you can save their documents as well. Each user will have a My Documents folder under their user name folder.
Windows Vista:
Most files are saved in the Documents folder. This folder is typically located at Local Disk (C:) > Users > User Name > Documents.
If you have files or folders on your desktop they will be located at Local Disk (C:) > Documents and Settings > your user name > desktop or Local Disk (C:) > Users > your user name > Desktop.
STEP THREE: Copy your data to the storage area. This is easily accomplished by opening the source and destination folders and clicking and dragging your data folders.
Or you can:
  • open the folder where data is stored
  • use Ctrl + a to select all the items within the folder OR hold down the CTRL key and click on the files you wish to save
  • use Ctrl + c to copy the data
  • open the destination folder (on your H drive or whatever storage you've chosen)
  • use Ctrl + v to paste the data into the destination folder

Boot failure

1st go to Ihttp://www.shamrockman.net/ and dload the version you want to run. My PMP shows 1.23 but I couldn't find that version so I now run 1.24.. Save the dloads in a new folder on your computer.. There should be (7) items that dload to your computer.

*** I have found that just copying the files to your PMP Player will NOT work.***

I had to delete ALL (7) of the system files and folders.
1.) BMP folder
2.) etc folder
3.) system file
4.) (4) "Version-[0x..... " files..

So there were (7) items I had to delete. Once deleted go to the folder you saved the dloads to. I had to click and drag each item to the drive your PMP player is connected to. Once all (7) items have been placed on your PMP player disconnect it, turn off the power, wait a minute and turn it back on. These steps worked PERFECTLY for me. Please let me know in this forum if this helps..

Thanks..
