Question about Denon Audio Players & Recorders

DenonUD-M5 - CD does not play. When putting on a CD the DISC IN indicator flashes correctly then there's a lot of clunking sounds and then the CD indicator light moves on to CD No 2 then repeats the process to NO 3 without any CD being played. The front display panel registers that there is a CD there and shows No 1 but does not play

No problems with CDs as they play perfectly well on other systems and are not pre-recorded. I think the problem is more to do with the changer.......but I don't know really.

Thanks for this but can you tell me how to do this?

Check to ensure that you are playing a CD that is compatible with the player, for example playing a DVD disk on the CD player will not work

The most popular cause of this problem is playing a disk that is incompatible with the player

Also your lens might be too weak to play the CDs so you should change your lens but first try opening your CD player lens and clean the lens with cotton wool and a little methylated spirit.

To Determine CD recording problem: Track1 records and plays back O.K. Upon completing track2, display window flashes continously "Now PMA" (Updating disc contents) NO playback or sound on track 2.

It is possible that until you finalize the disc, the only track that will play is the first one. Unfortunately, once you finalize the disc, you cannot record additional tracks to it. You can verify this by finalizing after recording the second track and seeing if they then both play. If that works, you can safely burn additional discs with confidence that they are burning correctly even if you cannot play each back after burning and must wait until finalization to test full burn.

Cd-rom won't engage

Maintenance might be the issue. Open you cd rom Drive. Take a piece of cotton wool or microfiber cloth. Make it damp with vinegar and wipe the small glass eye you see in your cd rom drive. Please be as gentle as possible because that small eye is sensitive. Then try playing your discs

Can play DVDs, butcannot play CDs. Indicates

The CD disc plays at much slower speed than the DVD, the selector ic is responsible for automating the correct speed, when this fails it cannot read the intented disc. I would use the DVD player until it gives out simply because repair cost can't be justified.

Won't Play Games, DVD and CD fine

I am guessing that when it was refurbished, it was because of a disc drive error... so i am about 90% sure that they didn't flash the disc drive and that would be their mistake. Disc Drives have their own memory and would still be able to play cd's and dvd's without problems... but if they are not flashed correctly through a sata computer with the correct hardware, they will not play games. My opinion is that you should contact the place which you bought it from, it's not your fault.

Kenwood RXD25 CD player intermitent??

Hi jenoss

Sounds like the unit has either a failing load belt to the cd drawer mechanism, not allowing the transport to fully load the cd. Give the unit a gentle tap just after the drawer closes and see if it resolves the problem.

OR a faulty spindle motor, you will have to take the lid off and after pressing play, give the disc a gentle "kickstart". If it then begins to run, then the motor is the problem.

If you find it is neither of these, get back to me here and I we shall go further

regards
Graeme
