Hi there,

The line may be on backwards or has developed a knot. Debris may have worked its way inside the bump head preventing it from functioning.

Check out these items.

Best regards

Mike

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do you feed the string into this weed eater? I've tried several ways - actually, my handyman has!, without success. Help please!

Hello gaelic light!
Sorry to hear that you (and the handyman) are having issues, and I really hope that this helps, but without the brand and model number, there's no way to be more specific! Is there any way you could re-post your question and include this info?
Normally there are only two types of line discharging mechanisms, those for continuous feed and those for static feed that use a heavy duty type of line that doesn't move. For each of these mechanism, there is a different installation method.
For the first, on most models the entire line holding unit will release when you unscrew the bottom "button" that is usually bumped in order to release more line. After it is unscrewed, you simply add more line onto the spindle. It should tell you the direction to wrap it on the unit itself. After both (if it's a twin line unit) have been loaded with line and the ends have been fed through the holes, you replace the cover, slide it back on and then replace the screw, or "button".
For the second type, many models these days make them so that they automatically "grab" the new 10"-12" piece of line when you simply shove it in the slot.
Again, I'm sorry that I am not being more specific, but as I said, if this doesn't help, please re-post your question and include your brand and model number.
Thanks and Happy Trimming!

HOT TO ADJUST THE TEAR HEIGHT ON A MICROLINE 490 WITHOUT USING THE SETUP DISC

If you are using regular letter size continuous printer paper, load the paper normally with the machine turned off. You can even turn the knob to feed the paper through, it doesn't matter how far. Turn the printer back on and press "PARK" button. Then press the "FF/LOAD" button and when you begin printing it will automatically print at the top of form (TOF). If the TOF ever gets thrown off you can press "LINE FEED" until the tear is where you want it and press "SHIFT" > "TOF" to back back to the previous page (or top of form).
Simply put, pressing "PARK" then "LOAD" should set the tear where you need it.

Black line running down the middle of the page when faxing or copying using automatic feed tray. If I lift lid and copy no line. Receiving fax not line?

Generally this problem is due to the the glass under the lid being dirty. Some combo units have 2 scanning areas, the large one you are using to copy ans a small one it runs the faxes through. I suggest you clean any and all glass you can find on the machine and give it another go.

Automatic feed gives a white line in copy or scan

Although this problem would normally show as a black line on the copy, it's quite possible that there is something white (i.e. a piece of tape or paper) stuck on the scanner where the page feed passes through. Clean this area carefully with a soft cloth.

I am trying to spool trimming line into my black and decker GH1000. It is supposed to feed automatically. It is not. I'm afraid I fed the line onto the spool incorrectly. Need help

Yes, it does feed automatically.
Please make sure the trimming line spooled in your spool regularly.

If above does not work, please go to service center to change a lever inside spool housing.

Automatic line feed melts together -will not feed- second trimmer to do this

The talcum powder fix that I gave for line feed problems works for this problem too. The powder lubricates the line, eliminating the friction that melts the line. They are essentially just two parts of the same problem.

I have black vertical lines on copies from automatic feed

Good luck. I've tried everything. The stupid thing jams on me 9 of 10 times so I guess the good news is I don't get a lot of black lines since it won't even print.
