Question about Epson R1900 Printer

1 Answer

I unplugged my Epson r1900 to move it into another office and now the same MAC computer it was hooked to before will not recognize it. It had the icon in the bottom toolbar but it now has a question mark over it. How do I make it work again?

Hi Rachel
It looks like your computer doesn't recognize the device and is asking for help with drivers.
The link is to Epson's support for the printer, for MAC installation. You can also link to documentation and manuals in the column on the right.
If you have the original disk that came with the printer you can run the setup process from that instead.
If this helps, please rate my post?
And if you have any questions please post back.
Thanks
Bob

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have the Epson R1900 and I did a nozzle check twice and head cleaning twice. I am unable to check my supply levels. I am getting a message saying to only use genuine Epson Ink but that is what it

More than a little unusual that the printer is reporting non-OEM cartridges if those are the ones loaded unless your cartridge supplier has obtained their stock from another sales zone, in which case it may be that the printer is not recognising them as being valid.

Presumably, given the model you are getting the warning on your computer so you can disable this status monitor by doing the following:

- Open Printers & Faxes (or the equivalent for your operating system
- Locate your R1900 printer in the list
- Right click and select "Printing Preferences" (or "Properties" followed by "Printing Preferences")
- Click the "Maintenance" tab
- Click on the button marked "Speed & Progress"
- Tick the box marked "Disable status monitor 3.0" (The exact line may differ)
- Click Apply then OK

This should disable the annoying "Use genuine" warnings although it will also disable your ink monitoring capabilities via software.

I would still contact your supplier and/or Epson to complain about the problem and ask for replacement cartridges for the ones most recently changed as obviously this is something that should be covered under the cartridge warranty.

Hope that helps.

I have not tried but I do not believe there is a hardware solution. Also check this site: http://www.efillink.com/AutoResetChip.html

They sell a set of refillable cartridges with an auto reset feature. They have a video which is also posted on YouTube which shows the refilling of their system.

Cannot workout connections for COM and/or USB from computer. I have just purchased R1900 and cannot get it to be recognized. My age (82) is unalterable but the connections are. Any advice will be...

remove the usb, re install the soft ware and you will be prompted on when to plug the the com. then continue. if it does not work, plug the com, go to add printer through printer and faxes the follow the steps and add it manually not automatic. if no avail, ask for another usb 2.0 com. thanks
