Question about Sony Cyber-shot W290 Digital Camera

1 Answer

There is dust behind the lens of my Sony Cybershot DSC-W290. One of the dust particles becomes visible on the LCD screen when I zoom all the way in on a light colored object. How can I clean the dust from inside the lens?

Have the same model, just discovered the same problem.

I used a canned air duster, hit the front of the lens with a few blasts of air and this seemed to solve the problem. I no longer see the dust particle blur in the viewfinder, either wide or tele. If you haven't tried this already, give it a shot.

    Good Luck!

I have sony DSC-W290 Cybershot Digital camera. it has zoom of 5x. currently, zoom is working up to 1.4x.After 1.4x the more zoom i did the photo is showing blur(Not clear).

I would check and confirm that you are zooming using the optical zoom. It sounds like you may be zooming using the digital zoom, which would have this effect.

I have a sony cybershot w-290. I downloaded pictures to my laptop from the memory stick. When I turn it on I get a message to turn it off and back on again. My lens keeps going in and out. I show full...

Sounds like your lens has issues. Probably some debris/sand got into it or maybe it suffered a
Jolt of some sort. Whatever the case maybe you will need to get your Lens serviced.
Sometimes if you use a case the camera may have turned on inside the case and caused
lens damage.

The lens of my sony camera will NOT retracked. What can I do, I love this camera.

There is a capacitor dump that you can try.

Remove the batteries, wait 5-10 minutes.
With the batteries out, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or so.
Put the batteries back in and your camera will start over (re-boot). You will know if it worked if you have to reset the date. But if that lens is really stuck you may be out of luck. The cost to repair it will exceed the cost of a new camera.

The lens keeps on moving in and out and there is a sign on the screen to turn off and back on the camera... I have a sony cybershot dsc-w55

I have a cybershot DSC-P5 that was doing this. The plastic ring around the lens that is glued to the casing had become warped. We simply popped it off, brushed/scraped the excess glue away and put the casing back on, now it works fine! Just store it properly and keep an extra eye out for dust coming in where the lens used to be.

DSC-S950 camera problem help!!!!

There is definitely some sand or dust stuck in the lens well between the body and the lens housing. Use your vacuum cleaner to pullout the dust particles from there. It is this stuckup dust that is making the noise. Also while pulling out the dust keep powering on and off the camera.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T10 - Silver (7.2MP, 3x Optical Zoom) 2.5" LCD. When the camera is turned on the screen is white. There is also a black swirl through the centre of the screen, the shadow of this...

I have lost my battery cover for my Sony Cybershot DSC-T10. IF your camera is water damaged and you want to sell it. Let me know, I could use the battery cover that slides and "clicks" into place.

Thx
