Mcdevito75 here, The pinging sound you hear is the air and fuel mixture being burned to fast in your engine, the spark at the spark plugs is happening to soon, depending on the year of your Ford, the spark timing is controlled by computer. I would recommend you have your local auto shop run a scan on your cars computer and adjust the ignition timing if possible. No real danger but could cause extra wear in the engine., (cylinder walls and Valves)
