We have a gold star dehumidifier about 6 years old. It has worked beautifully and was very quiet. Now it is making loud vibration sounds and the cool air being released turns hot after about 1-2 minutes of turning on. The sides of the unit are very cold, like ice is forming, maybe?
-   I have the same dehumidifier and have only had it for 92 days. Recently, the noise that it makes is very loud. I have not noticed any ice build up or that the air release is any different. I tried to return it to Wal-Mart where it was purchased but they are telling me that it is past the 90 days and I have to get help from the manufacturer. Can you please help me?-   Amanda Krieg

I have a Kemmore Dehumidifier model 580.53650 and when you plug in the power cord it trips the surge protector breaker on the receptical. The surge protector is ok because my other dehumidifier works fine when I plug it in. I checked the AC power cord and it is OK. I removed the Fan motor and Compressor circuit by disconnecting their wires from the capacitor and I disconnected the AC hot lead (black) from the main Pwb board and it still trips the breaker. It appears the the Capacitor is the problem. Does it make sense that the capacitor would cause this problem?
