Connect it using the composite and audio RCA connectors(the round red, white and yellow ones) that both your tv and the cable box have.

My TV does not have yellow plug just red and white. How do I hook up ?

The yellow socket is for something called "baseband video" That old technology was superseded by "S-video" which is a round connector with several pins inside. both of these systems required the red and white connectors for the audio.
The newest connection is HDMI, which is an about 1 inch wide flat connector with several contacts on it. It has the best picture. If you are hooking up a newer DVR or Cable / Satellite box, Check for newer connectors and buy a matching cable. Newer DVR's and cable / satellite boxes with HDMI plugs send the audio over the same cable along with the video. You do not need to get the most expensive HDMI cable to get a good picture.

How do you hook up cable box using coaxial in hdmi out

If your cable box has an HDMI OUT connector you simply connect the HDMI cable to the TV and the coaxial cable from the cable company to the coaxial input on the cable box. Then select the HDMI input on the TV that matches the number of the HDMI input port you chose on the back of the TV.

How do I remove electrical interference on my dvd recorder?

Hi David
You need to figure out how the interference is getting inside.
Look at the external connections.
HDMI Cable or Perhaps the Power Connector.
Noise from the power cable would be most likely.
A Ferrite Bead can often be clipped onto power lead to dampen electrical noise. Electronics supply stores have these.
If an AC to DC external box is used. What is the required DC input to your DVD ?
For example if the AC is dropped to 12v DC and then plugged into player via a small connector. You could get your own connector and supply from a 12v vehicle battery. Be careful to maintain correct polarity to tip of connector.
Use a cheap multimeter to check voltage & polarity.
Substitution....This would prove that the noise source is from the Power Supply.
Cheers

What cables are needed for a tablet to tv connection

Depends on the tablet. Many have a micro hdmi connector so a micro hdmi to standard hdmi cable will do the trick. Some have a mini hdmi so mini to standard. There are some that only have a 1/8th inch jack so you would need a 1/8 inch video adapter that splits off a right and left audio and a video RCA cable.

Panasonic txl42et60b tv does not have a scart connection sky box does not have hdmi outlet only a scart will it work with an adaptor cable or does it need a special convertor box ?

HDMI out to HDMI input requires an HDMI cable. If there are any connectors out there that will convert HDMI to another source the company called TigerDirect may have what you need.

VGA has only analog video signal. It is not digital and does not have any audio either.
HDMI is a digital connection standard with both digital video and digital audio signals.
A cable with a VGA connector on one end and a HDMI connector on the other still needs a converter box to convert the analog signals into the digital signals required for the TV's HDMI. Click on the following link to go to web page titled VGA to HDMI Cable - An Unfortunate Myth

Will not receive incoming cable signal

You didn't mention how you are getting your cable, but will touch on it briefly. Please clarify if you need more information.

Your cable comes in through the wall, and it should goto a converter box / receiver box. The output of this box then is connected to your TV via either HDMI, component video, audio visual connections (RCA), or perhaps the cable coax connector. Sometimes, the cable box will connect via a DVI port, but those are relatively uncommon. Almost *all* modern cable systems have gone to a digital format, which requires a converter box. There are very few, if any, cable standards that are still analog (which could be tuned by your tv at one time). If unsure, contact your cable company to find out exactly which you have, and if a converter box will be required.

You need to setup your tv to look at whatever input the cable box is using, or tell it to look for a signal on the cable coax connector. Make sure the cable box is on before you try to set it up, or you may waste your valuable time.

I have a Motorola VIP1200 set top U-verse converter and a display with SVGA and HDMI. The VIP1200 seems to have a couple of connection options (S-video and a HDMI port). Is connecting them simply a matter...

S-video is only an enhanced picture (video) signal and, must be used with two rca cables: red=left channel sound, white=right channel sound.
HDMI requires an HDMI cable from a HDMI capable (must have an HDMI connector ) cable / satellite receiver to a HDMI TV (also must have an HDMI connector.

Connecting to HD TV

This TV has no HDMI input socket. It Has a DVI input socket. Therefore you will require an HDMI to DVI converter adapter or an HDMI to DVI cable. The DVI is video only so you will require audio cables from your Sky box (Audio L and R ) which will connect to the back left of your TV (Audio L/R sockets next to the s-video and component video connectors)
