You find a free and portable file recovery software and put it on a memory stick. then you plug that stick in the pc from which you want to recover the files, launch it ans search for the files. When the files are found store them on the stick.

Data recovery tool

In my opinion, yes, you can recover the data. But you need to take your Mac hard drive (I dobelieve you are using Mac, if not, you will not ask question here) to therepair shop to fix.
When the harddrive is fixed, you will find that you got a "new" hard drive-all thefiles are not in the hard drive anymore. But this doesn't mean you cannotrecover files. I always consider that fix the hard drive like formatting thehard drive. The operating system will not really delete the files. It justdelete the catalog and free up the space of the files so that there is enoughspace for you to store the new files. But if you put new files into this drive, the new files will occupy the the space which is belonging to the "deletedfiles", this is the so called data overwritten situation. Once thishappens, you will lose the chance to get back your files.

Maybe you can try uFlysoft Data Recovery for Mac, it can recover empty trash on Mac only in three steps: Step 1. Launch the software to scan the device where your files deleted
Step 2: Preview the scan result files and make mark if it is the one you find
Step 3: Recover files

  • Quit iTunes
  • Locate your hosts file, in Mac OS X this is /etc/hosts and in Windows this is c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
  • Open the hosts file with Administrator privileges
  • Add the following lines to the very bottom of the hosts file:
  • 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
  • Connect your iPhone to the computer
  • Launch iTunes
  • Put the iPhone/iPad/iPod into DFU mode by turning the phone off and then holding down the sleep and power button for 10 seconds, then release the power button but hold onto the home button until iTunes tells you that the device is now in recover mode
  • Use the iTunes Restore feature as usual with the iOS device
  • After the process, remove the line you added to the hosts file.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Hi Alina. Seems like oyur Sansa E260 is experiencing some system errors. Here's a procedure you could try -- it's setting your player to the Recovery Mode and re-flashing its firmware. I hope this helps: RECOVERY MODE Switch your Sansa E260 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface 3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button. 4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E260 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode" 5. Connect your E260 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above) 6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa E260 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6. Next, Apply the firmware for the E260 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time): Step 1: Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa E260 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop": http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downl... Step 2: Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred which caused the "Load Main Image Failed" notification in the first place. Step 3: When the process is complete, unplug your E260 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch Step 4: Power up your E260 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully. If not, try steps 1-4 again
