Greetings
took the printer to a professional where cannon recommended and it cost us $28.50.then a choice of if we decide to fix the challenge the $28.50 comes off the initail pricing
the apparent situation is that the printhead would only read it as a 750 not a 780 so it is not the print head it is the main board/logic so the costing would have been the over 300 dollars ..
thank you for all your assistance the old printhead was not workable so your information is 100%:)
fond regards KE

The 3eBK head stopped printing.

Try below some steps which might help you resolve the problem.

  1. Press the <Menu> button on the printers operation panel repeatedly until [MAINTENANCE] appears in the LCD.
  2. Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow buttons to select the cleaning setting you want. Select [HEAD CLEANING] or [HEAD REFRESHING] for deep print head cleaning.

Will not print 6BK

Please see the Canon link below, and as Canon links return generic pages, type in "missing black print" (without quotes) or something of that nature. The results will include Reseat/remove printhead, among others. I have reproduced that content for you below, but I would also add that a number of folks have issues with black print cartridges, and it seems this is an issue that is fairly widespread, as one of the results is that your printer may need repair. If you have tried more than one cartridge with the same result, suggest consulting support if you don't think your usage justifies a new print head - especially if you are still under warranty.
