Hi there,
Power on, when you see the IBM logo, press F12 once to load the boot menu options, provided that you already have an Operating System CD / DVD in the drive, which should allow you to format your HDD.

WHAT CAME BEFORE RAMS AND WHAT YEAR DID IT COME OUT?

You can probably find the answer by checking out THIS wiki.

An early type of widespread writable random-access memory was the magnetic core memory, developed from 1949 to 1952, and subsequently used in most computers up until the development of the static and dynamic integrated RAM circuits in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Before this, computers used relays, delay line/delay memory, or various kinds of vacuum tube arrangements to implement "main" memory functions (i.e., hundreds or thousands of bits), some of which were random access, some not. Latches built out of vacuum tube triodes, and later, out of discrete transistors, were used for smaller and faster memories such as random-access register banks and registers. Prior to the development of integrated ROM circuits, permanent (or read-only) random-access memory was often constructed using semiconductor diode matrices driven by address decoders.

IBMThinkPad T40 Wont connect to wireless networks.

Hello, if you see a yellow exclamation mark it means device drivers are not installed or are incorrect.
below is the link for IBM/Lenovo site that lists all the drivers for Thinkpad T40/T41. Go to that linkand scroll down to " Wireless Networking" and select the appropriate drivers: eg: Make sure it under T40 section, and not T41 since they are listed side by side.
since i am not sure which exact wireless card your T40 has i am posting this main link where it lists all options.
I would start with "ThinkPad 802.11bg wireless LAN Mini PCI adapter" if this doesn't work try next one in the list.
here is the link: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-46258.html#wireless

I hope this helps, let me know if there is a problem.

Kind reagrds,

Amar Sondhi

Need to clear the memory of a Ricoh Aficio 1232c copier, it is printing out random copies of some kind of code, can't find manual...help.

you do not need to clear the memory print the configuration page and see which driver is supported:
it can [RPCS] or [PCL 5e] or [PCL 6e] or [PostScript]
if you are using the driver which the machine does not support she will print documents as you say some kind of codes.

I need a laptop having onboard dedicated memory of 256 mb.show me the models available in indian market and price also.

MOST LABTOP HAVE A PANEL ON THE BUTTOM OF THE MACHINE AND ON THAT PANEL SHOW A LITTLE ICON THE SHAPE OF MEMORY CHIP ON A STICK, 2 SCREW THAT ARE A PHILLIPS HEAD, DEPENDING ON WHAT MAKE YOU WANT AND WHAT OPERATIONAL SOFTWARE OR WINDOWS VERSION WILL DEPEND ON AMOUNT OF RAM, IF YOU OPEN YOUR UP IT MAY HAVE 2 CHIP SET AT 125MB, OR 1 CHIP 250MB, THAN 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, XP VERSION NOT MORE THAN 1GB BECAUSE THE SYSTEM CANNOT HANDLE THE SPEED AND YOU WOULD OVERCLOCK MEMORY.
ADDING ANOTHER 256MB WOULD BE FINE, COUNT THE NUMBER OF PINS AT THE BUTTOM OF THE CAED WHERE IT PLUG INTO THE LABTOP, OR LOOK ON THE MEMORY STICK AND LOOK FOR THE NAME OF THE MFG AND EMAIL THEM ON A PRICE TO INCREASE THE MEMORY, AND YOU MAY SAVE ALOT OF MONEY IN THE LONG RUN.

GO ON LINE TO WWW.FRYS.COM, THEY HAVE THE BEST PRICES AND ALL THERE MEMORY HAVE A LIFE TIME WARRENTY WHEN YOU BUY FROM THEM.

IF YOU NEED MORE HELP WITH YOUR LABTOP OR PC YOU CAN CONTACT ME THREW THIS WEB SITE

What is computer memories ?

Random-access memory (usually known by its acronym, RAM) is a form of computer data storage. Today it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow the stored data to be accessed in any order (i.e., at random). The word random thus refers to the fact that any piece of data can be returned in a constant time, regardless of its physical location and whether or not it is related to the previous piece of data.[1]
This contrasts with storage mechanisms such as tapes, magnetic discs and optical discs, which rely on the physical movement of the recording medium or a reading head. In these devices, the movement takes longer than the data transfer, and the retrieval time varies depending on the physical location of the next item.
The word RAM is mostly associated with volatile types of memory (such as DRAM memory modules), where the information is lost after the power is switched off. However, many other types of memory are RAM as well (i.e., Random Access Memory), including most types of ROM and a kind of flash memory called NOR-Flash.
