Question about Compaq Presario S6300NX PC Desktop
My default administrator user account (for my windows XP) and all the files in that account disappeared when i created a administrator user account. I can't find my files anywhere on the C: drive...what do I do?
You need to log onto the old account, to see your settings. that happens when you have two accounts.

Here is a
simple way to access Windows XP with Administrator rights and privileges if you
have password protected your User account on your Windows XP system and can't
remember the password(s) to login. Whenever Windows XP is installed on a
system, it creates a default account called "Administrator" and by
default this account is not password protected. Therefore, if you bought a
brand name computer (such as Dell, HP, Compaq or Sony)or you have installed
Windows XP yourself. You should be able to login to the computer through theunprotected

new password to your account. To do this, try Method 1.
Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button
after you switch on until you get the Safe Mode Option.
Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.
Click through several self-explanatory
screens until your reach the familiar 'Welcome' screen.

Boot the PC with the CD Rom and Run the SmartKey, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have several accounts) select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its password to reset it. Just one press, you have removed the password.
