My old dremel engraver does not work

Have you tried changing the bushings. These are located inside the screw looking pieces. There are usually one on each side and these can be purchased at Lowes. If this doesn't work, then the motor is most likely burned up. The bushings are easy to replace just unscrew and the old will fall out and sit the new in and screw the cap back on.

I just started using this engraver today. I got up to give my hand a rest and when i came back i engraved one item and it stopped working after that. What could have happened?

If it's a brand new Dremel return it for a new one. If not it may have overheated. Let it sit for a few hours and try again. Always be sure the vents are free from any blockage as this can cause the problem.
