Question about Baby Jogger City Classic Single - Black/Silver Standard Stroller

1 Answer

No brakes. My son has baby jogger and the plastic mechanism inside the rear wheels is stripped out where the locking bar for the brakes inserts. Is this a common problem? Do I have to replace it with same parts (and problem). Grandpa Glen

In this scenario a replacement of the part is required, please contact the manufacturer for the correct part and replace it before using it, as it can be dangerous.

The front wheeels on my citi mini double stroller keep locking by them selves making it really impossible to go around corners. any ideas what ican do?

If you do not care if it will not lock again (We did not) you can take the wheel off, and then you will see a little post that moves up and down with the lock mechanism. You just need to remove that. It is a piece of metal inside of plastic. I used a grinding wheel to shave it down, but you could use wire cutters to cut the plastic, and then regular pliers to pull out the metal stud. Mine no longer locks, and it's much easier to maneuver.

I have a Baby Jogger City Select (manufactured 10/2010) and have an issue with the handbrake. When you pull the lever on the handle bar the cable, which runs to the rear axis, pulls out a little metal bar...

I did not have to disassemble at all. Thanks to your comments. I just took off the wheel with the stuck pin; gripped the pin with large pliers and a tight grip; pulled slightly outward while turning pin. Did this a couple times and the pin shot back into place!

Our brake on a Bugaboo Comeleon will not stay locked. Mechanically it works; just will not stay in place.

Hi,

This sounds like the mechanism within the brake (white brake on the handle bar) has broken inside. I would suggest that you contact www.bugaboo.com who generally will give the parts for this repair free.

Hope this helps.

I have a jane powertwin pro and the rear bar that hangs above the clogs for the rear brake constantly rubs on the cogs making a grinding noise with or without kids in it. Please help

Hi,

This sounds like either your brake bar is loose or has been bent out of shape. Look at the silver metal pins that click into the black cogs (on the inside of the back wheels), if these are not horizontal, then your brake bar has probably suffered some stress, causing the bar to bend and the pins to touch the cogs.
If the metal pins are totally horizontal, then your brake bar is just probably loose and needs removing and re-rivetting on tighter.

Either way, I would suggest that you contact (if in the UK) this link:

www.johnstonprams.co.uk

who will be able to assist with the repair. You can also take this back to the retailer and arrange a repair through them.

I hope this helps.

To lock the front wheel there is a small black button that can be twisted. It is very stiff on my buggy but if you fiddle with it while the wheel is straight it will lock it.

I have the older style Jane Powertin with the spoke wheels. The brake bar is hitting off the plastic ring on the inner side of the wheel (that the brake bar fits into when the brake is on)  so when I...

Hi,

This sounds like the brake bar (at some point) has had a little too much pressure applied to it. The brake bar itself has a natural curve and when too much pressure is applied, the curve becomes distorted, therefore making the silver metal pins sit at an odd angle (instead of being horizontal) this in-turn makes the pins contact the cogs on the inside of the back wheels, hence the clicking noise.
The remedy for this is get the brake bar drilled out (is attached via rivets, so this is the only way) then the bar can be straightened and re-rivetted on. The best option to get advice on this is to contact www.johnstonprams.co.uk or www.jane.es for repair agents.

I hope this helps.

Cant fold my instep safari tt stroller

One-hand fold is not as quick and easy as it's name suggests. This model requires reclining seat all the way first, then step on the safety release lever (about shin-high) located above one of the rear wheel axles. While holding down safety release lever with your foot, then squeeze the one hand fold mechanism located near the parent console and the stroller will collapse. There is a lock bar/plate to hold stroller in place. It will not stand on its own in this position, but with the foot brake activated, will lean against something and stay in place.

Chassis won't lock into position

Don't worry, this is normal. once you lock the seat into place, the front bar stays put, even if you hop a curb.
