Space bar faulty as well?

Open the case and remove the video card and reseat it. If that doesn't work, you need a new video card.

The motherboard doesn't beep for standalone video cards. If the motherboard has onboard video you can try and getting into the bios by tapping F2, F10, or Delete at boot up. If the onboard VGA video works, you can select onboard video until you can replace the video card.

Computer screen resolution won't stay

Either your graphics card is not able to support the resolution or you need to update the graphics driver.

Remember to click apply and then ok when setting the resolution.

Update the graphics driver by visiting the Nvidia or AMD website, depending on the maker of your graphics card. Then serach for the driver using the model name of your card.

If you are using onboard graphics from the mainboard then you will need to find the grapics driver on the mainboard manufactures website.

Take care!

Is it possible to upgrade my e-machines 4260 with a grapics card??

Hi:
at the bare minimum, you can upgrade it with a PCI graphics card. That would plug into one of your spare white PCI slots, and they make those with atleast 256mb of memory ( When shopping for one, dont confuse a PCI video card with a PCI express card) I couldn't find enough info on what exact board you have, as they used several, but many had a brown AGP memory slot, which is a better option for you. Keep in mind, also, that if you upgrade the video card and memory , you might need to upgrade your power supply too, due to the higher current requirements of the new card and memory.

If all else fails, bring your tower to a computer shop, and they will usually tell you what you need for free, with hopes to sell a upgrade!

I have an Emachine with Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6100 (graphics up to 128 MB of shared video memory)Video card, was wondering what video card should i get to upgrade for either a s-video out or HDMI to...

Hi,

You can purchase a new graphics card and install no problem. Dont use S-Video tho, as the quality is not good. HDMI graphics cards are much cheaper these days.

Stay with Nvidia, as the onboard chip for your PC would support this better.

I going to buy a emachine et116107 today and i

That particular model has PCI-Express slot for optional upgrades. So if you decide to upgrade the graphics look for anything with a PCI-E label or PCI-Ex16. If you do get a new card make sure to disable the onboard graphics in the system BIOS prior to installing new card. Instructions can be found via google search

I don't really have a problem I just want to upgrade the cpu but don't have a support list. I want to put in the best possible one but don't know which one it will support.

Here are the tips on how to upgrade and support to you CPU.

The 8400GS isn't much better than the onboard graphics in your Emachines, and the 7200 is NO better than your onboard.

If you want a noticeable improvement in performance, get at least a 9500GT, which is the highest card your Emachines can run on its stock power supply.

Any card more powerful than that, you are going to need a new power supply.

This 9500GT is below $50: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

RAM Memory Upgrades
1 GB 240 Pin DDR-2 667MHz (PC2-5400) 512MB 240 Pin DDR-2 667MHz (PC2-5400)

Hope this helps.

Please rate me if i am helpful to you.
Thank you.

Does this computer have an onboard video card?

If so you will need to disable this feature in the system BIOS.
It should be under onboard devices.
You will need to use the onboard card to enter the system bios and then turn off the onboard card. install the new card and then connect the monitor to it then power on the machine
