Thank you for you speedy response. They are being washed properly it's just the tablet ends up in the bottom of the dishwasher. (I tend to rinse the food off in any case) I've put it on twice today to dissolve the tablet.

The compartment does come open, it's just the tablet falls to the bottom of the machine.

Check if the circulating pump is actually working - are the dishes being cleaned at all ? If not - check pump for operation and replace if faulty.
If tablets are still stuck in a compartment - replace operating mechanism for tablet drawer, or - cheaper - put tablets in with the cutlery instead.

Think the element or thermastate has gone as it's not disolving the tablets can I fix it myself

One of the first things to check if the dishwasher detergent is not dissolving is the water temperature that is in the dishwasher. If the water temperature is too cold, it may not be able to dissolve the tablet effectively. . If it is below 130 degrees Fahrenheit the setting needs to be increased or contact a plumber for assistance.

Dishwasher tablet not dissolving when dishwasher beingrun

is your water or water temperature setting too cold? The hotter the water the better chance to dissolve the tablet.

Maybe try running on the heated or sanitize cycle to see if it works better. I always run the sink tap until there is hot water coming out before turning the dishwasher on....

Tablet not dissolving, and dishes dirty

Hi,Nicole, try this:
Run the water nearest the dishwasher (usually the sink), getting the water as hot as possible immediately before starting the dishwasher. This will help getting the tablet to dissolve.

Neff S5433 Dishwasher - Detergent tablet not dissolving

Hi!

Please run the machine without detergent for 2-3 washes. Also try using a little hot water. Also, don't used cleaner and softener together but add softener on the last rinse.

Detergent tablet didn't dissolved

Hi,
Welocme

If the tablet did not dissolve this means either your soap dispenser door did not open, or your water is not hot enough. let the hot water tap run till it comes out hot before starting the dishwasher.
