SOURCE: water running out when washing machine is filling?

Hi jojolevaokah

Water siphoning out the drain line
If the water is continues to fill and water is draining while it is filling or agitating, Check the height of the stand pipe. It should be about 36" above the floor. If the height is correct it may need to have an anti-siphoning valve installed into the drain line.

If you have pressed start or pulled out the knob of the cycle unit and nothing happens I would be checking the operation of the water inlet solenoid . If it is not getting power or it is not opening the valve to allow filling to commence there will be no further action of the machine until the tub is filled to the desired level.

Hi I have a hotpoint wd72 which is showing an error ' E10 CHECK WATER SUPPLY' when going into rinse mode. I've checked the cold water supply pipe from source to the washer and thats fine, it seems that...

First check the screens in the end of the hose and inside the water inlet valve. If clear you need to remove the top and check to see if you have power to the water inlet valve, there will be a solenoid for hot and one for cold. Check for power on the cold solenoid when washer is put into a fill cycle. If you have power replace the water inlet valve. The whole valve must be replaced. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/washerwaterinlet.html

My washing machine wont rinsewhen i put it on for a wash

Check for a cold water supply problem, since cold water is what is used in the rinse. Check the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlet valve ports (especially on the cold water side). The solenoids can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a bad solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Washer will not operate in cold water

sounds like the water inlet valve solenoid is burnt out on the cold side, hot side is ok. if you have the machine set for a cold water rinse, and the solenoid is burnt out it is calling for cold water and it will not come into the machine. change the water valve.

Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 Washer Dryer not drying.

Hi, I think the problem you have is with the cold water inlet valve? When your machine dries it uses a small amount of water at high pressure through a restricter fitted in the water inlet valve. These break down letting in to much water which cannot evaporate quick enough for it to pump out causing the washing to become wetter than after the wash/spin cycle. The only way of solving this is to replace th tree way water inlet valve. But make sure that the pump is working ok first and that there is nothing in the sump hose trap which is located underneath the washing machine out the bottom of the tub.
Good luck.................

Hotpoint WF321 during rinse and spin, will not go into full spin as machine keeps filling with water.

you should check your pressure switch hose for a pin hole or better still just replace the hose and it should sort your problem out good luck hamstel

Won't fill with hot water only

if you have the proper voltage at your solenoid (proper voltage should be on a label on the side of the valve) and you can't feel it clicking on and off and can't feel any water coming out the other side then the problem is your valve is physically stuck close. the valve operates like a piston, when you apply voltage to the valve it creates a magnetic field pulling the plunger up and allowing water to pass. and when voltage is dropped the spring loaded plunger drops back down shutting off water flow. the two things that would cause the valve not to open would be the electro magnet is on back-words or some scale (more likely) has gotten inside the valve and caused it to either not open and close or just clogged the hole

Cold Water Solenoid Problem

The fill switch has a diaphragm that could be damaged and not closing properly. I have personally experienced this problem before. The way water could be getting by the switch (even with no power applied) is simply water pressure in the lines. I don't understand why it would work during the spin and rinse cycles, however. If you say it's not a pressure switch problem (level sensor), then I would invest in a new fill valve. I hope this helps.
