Question about Mitsubishi Mr. Slim MXZ30TN Air Conditioner

2 Answers

I have three mr slim inside in a very clean place, non-smoker, no pets, brand new renovation....problem is that the fans are constantly getting dirty. less than a month ago i had all three units taken down, thoroughly cleaned, drain hoses cleaned, etc. Put them back up and now they are accumulating what appears to be an abnormal amount of gunk on the fan blades. the filters are clean, the coils are clean, and the air intakes at the top of the unit are clean as well. anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

Very strange indeed! The ffault is on anyway and there is a dirt that comes on to stick to the fan. So the logic is that the fan is bringing up the dust to the fan either from the inside of the unit or from the outside. if you are spot sure that there is no question of dirt in the enviuorment that can bring in dirt, even by static , we must focus once again to see if any of the insulation pads are wearing off and coming into in a slow way. Analyse the dirt on the fan, use a good magnifying glass to check , I hope this investigation will be the key to the fault. Please give me a feedback, credit if helpful. Good day

Just a thought came to my mind, please check your carpets/drapes if heavily furnished as the fibres can statically get caught on with the aid of moisture from the unit. Regards

There is an issue with the fan wheel itself. It depends on the age of the unit and if it is still under warranty. The blower wheel must be replaced with a "negatively charged" wheel. The repair must be performed by a qualifieds service technician, it is not for the faint of heart or inexperienced. This is not only dirt, it is a mold issue as well. I don't remember the dates but if the unit was built after a certain date it shouldn't be a problem. If it is under 2 years old it should be covered under warranty. Contact a servicing Mitsubishi dealer don't let some schmuck wreck your unit it is not an easy job but really must be done.

You might have to run them on fan only for a half to 3/4s of an hour when you turn the a/c off

Fan works but compressor does not start. Its a brand new unit

By fan woks you mean inside unit right? assuming so, check remote control settings and battery, set 70 degrees, a light should come on at the display and seconds later, the compressor should kick in. If Unit is brand new, it should be it. If split units, try another remote, some times those remotes show the display but do not send signal strong enough that the unit can receive it. Try getting closer to the unit.

Fan looks dirty but can not find directions on how to get to the fan to clean it!! Can you help.

mcdevito75 here, you could go to the website Mitsubishi Mr. Slim for directions?? maybe?. Most of the time the entire A/C unit has to come out of it"s Cover to get to the fan. Let an A/C shop handle the job, plus they check the entire A/C unit and give gauarantee.

I need to clean the blower part of my Mr. Slim ( the cylinder )

mr slim has this cover. just unscrew the whole cover and you've got the visible blower. the power supply must be turned off so there is no electic shock or accident that other person may turn the a/c. then there is this cover of the fan with a lock so unlock it and you can clean it throughly with a cloth.....

Mold inside the home unit

You can use a spray bottle with 100% bleach in it to kill the mold. After spraying the gunk, you can put on some rubber gloves (those dishwashing ones are a good choice) and use some paper towels to wipe up as much of the mold as you can reach.

Spray more bleach on the parts you're cleaning to keep sanitizing the A/C unit and wipe everything dry. You should put all the stuff you used for cleaning it up (paper towels, gloves, etc.) into a plastic trash bag,

I'd also recommend that you do this when any small children and pets aren't in the room you've got the A/C in, and also wear a face mask to keep from breathing in anything that could cause a respritory ailment.

You can also use some Lysol disenfectant to give the whole unit a nice going over, once you're done, to be sure that you've killed any active mold spores. It might be good to give the unit a once-a-month cleaning to prevent the growth of mold in the future.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
