It wont let me on my ps3 it just says connect storage media help?

Your HDD(hard drive) has lost components. It could also be faulty. The only way to fix it may be to replace the HDD. Then you can log into PSN and download the latest firmware update onto a thumb drive(memory stick) then do a manual install from safe mode.

PS3 Won't Take Disc!

Hi, I think it was me who had helped you before. I will be glad to help again. Ok, first you have to tear apart your PS3 (just like when you cleaned it). Now looking at the rollers and "dogs" make sure that they are closed and not open all the way like when a disc is in it. Look at the flap on the top too make sure it opens and closes freely. Next, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!! Plug your PS3 in and try to hit the eject button, if it is reset and ready for a disc it will beep twice when you hit the eject button without a disc in it. Place the top back on the he DVD drive and try to insert a disc. At this point it should take it. If not then try hitting the eject again. Once the PS3 resets and takes and ejects discs again, then you can put it back together.

Saying hard disk corrupt then restores but game freezes

Is this a game on your hard drive or a CD? If it is on your hard drive then it quite possibly had a bad download OR your hard drive is on its last leg.

open tray right??

-check the time and date settings, even the time zone as well
-try to load the disc without the hard drive or memory unit
-look for corrupted files at the memory, delete it
-do the system maintainance,
system settings>>memory>>hardrive, press y for device options, press this in sequence x, x, Lb, Rb, x,x>>yes

"hard drive disk is corrupted, it will be restored" but it doesnt

I'm not 100% on this but this generally means that the hard drive is bad. You can try reseating it (open the door on the left side, take out the blue screw slide the HDD back and then reseat it) and it may fix it. Else looks like you may have to buy a new one. You can probably check the sony website for upgrades or look online to buy a new one. I don't think it'll be too costly.

Ps3 wont start up

1) Have you tried reseating the hard drive?
2) Stand the ps3 on it's wide base, with the touch sensitive buttons facing you
3) Open the plastic cover on the left face of the machine (the narrow base when the machine is standing vertically)
4) You should see the HDD cradle and a blue screw which holds the HDD in place.
5) Remove the blue screw
6) lift up the metal u shaped tag, so it points towards you
7) Slide the HDD sideways by gripping the tag
8) Reverse the procedure to reseat the HDD.

If you are lucky this might work!
If not you could try replacing the HDD with a new one.

Hard disk currupt

Unfortunately it sounds like you do need a new HDD.
If you only played for 4hrs I can only assume that your machine is still under warrenty- in which case SONY should fix the problem for you.
If not, follow this link for a good step-by-step guide to replacing it, seem fairly straight forward -

Make sure you read the NOTICES section at the top of the page so you know what you are getting yourself into.
Also, check this link to actually see someone doing it before you attempt it yourself -

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!REMEMBER OPENING YOUR PS3 YOUSELF WILL VOID YOUR WARRENTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
