Cartier are known for not letting the spare parts become available .A generic crown can be fitted by a good watchmaker so it will work fine and look ok but wont be original. To get the original parts you will need to use a Cartier stockist.

How do I wind a Cartier ballon blue watch ?

more than likely it has a screw down crown. Turn the crown towards you to release it from the case tube then wind it forward. Make sure that you tighten the crown when finished winding it or you will get water into the watch.
hope this helps, gabe.

I need to change the date on my Cartier Roadster (back 2 days). How do I do that?

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
  • Pull the crown of the analog/date Cartier watch and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise until you see the date advance in the display window at about 1 a.m.
  • 2 Use the quick date set method by rotating the crown counterclockwise after reaching 1 a.m. until the hands reach 7:30 p.m. Then again rotate the crown clockwise back to 1 a.m. Repeat the procedure until the correct date is displayed.
  • 3 Adjust the date forward or backward 12 hours if your Cartier watch changes the date at the noon hour.

  • Best regards. Jewel

Hi - I have a ladies Cartier Santos watch and am told I need a new movement (Quartz)can anyone tell me where to get one and rough price? Kindest regards David

The only place where you are likely to get a price from is either an authorized dealer or Cartier.

I suggest that you go to "Cartier.com", select your region and then "timepieces".

At the bottom of the page you have a choice of store finder or service etc.

ARMANI does NOT DO that. Plating is applied to stainless steel only. Rate me, plz.

Missing blue winder where can I buy it?

If that is a real Cartier watch and you have lost the crown which is the piece that you use to either wind or set the time then you will need to send it back to Cartier. They dont sell parts to watch repair shops! :-)

If it's a replica then you can take it to a reputable watch repair shop and they can install a generic crown!

Setting time and date on my Cartier Pasha watch.

Do not be so afraid. Unscrew that big crown fully, pull off and then you will see the real setting crown(quite small one), called an underlayed crown.
That little chain is hard enough to withstand your pulls, unless you are drunk. :)))
When you get that small crown handy- you can set the time and all the features.
If the small crown is not moving, your watch is rusty and you will need a proper watchmakers help.
    Don't forget to rate, please.

    Fake or not

Generally you have to open the watch to see the movement but a lot of fakes are plain workmanship flaws.
A real Cartier will not be made from base metal. It will be made from stainless steel or precious metal.
A real Cartier will most likely be built with screws in the band instead of cotter pins.
When you pull the crown to set there will be no play in the set lever. In other words when you spin it, it will begin to turn the hand immediately and there will be a slight resistance. It will not feel loose.
As stated, the best way to tell is to look at the movement. Cartier uses a high grade Swiss movement most likely marked ETA.
