Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Since connecting my new c4200 series printer I keep getting a message "HP Digital Imaging Monitor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Please tell Microsoft about this problem. I have already sent the message twice and nothing happens.

Uninstall your HP software and reinstall. If that doesn't fix it, email or call HP and tell them more about your problem.

How to Solve Cannot Scan Error or No Scan Options: Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot

1. Click Start ,
2. Click Run and type Msconfig and then click on ok
Will show the new screen of System configuration utility
3 Click on startup option
4. Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor .
5. Select the HP Digital Imaging Monitor check box.
6. Click Apply , and then click Close .
7. Click Restart to restart the computer.

*Note : If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list,
it means the driver was not correctly installed.
You need to reinstall the software.

On a Windows computer, look for the HP Digital Imaging Monitor icon in the Windows system tray (at the lower right side of the screen, near the time) to verify the software is running.
Closing the HP Digital Imaging Monitor icon in the Windows system tray can cause the HP All-in-One to lose some of its scan functionality and result in the No Connection error message. If this happens, you can restore full functionality by restarting your computer or by starting the HP Photosmart Software.
After you have made the scan, you can find it using the Photosmart Software. It is also stored in the "My Scans" area under My Documents on your computer.

Hi,

The HP Digital Imaging Monitor (DIM) software must be running in order to scan from the printer.

  1. Click Start , and then click Run .
  2. In the Open text box, type msconfig , and then click OK .
  3. In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
  4. Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor .If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list, the driver was not correctly installed or a custom install was used. You need to reinstall the software.
  5. Select the HP Digital Imaging Monitor check box.
  6. Click Apply , and then click Close .
  7. Click Restart to restart the computer.
  8. Try scanning again

  1. Solution one: Make sure the hardware is functioning correctly(try to make a copy)

  2. Solution two: Restart both the All-in-One and the computer
    3. Solution three: Check if the correct scanning device is selected as default under HP Software
    4. Solution four: Download and run the Scan Diagnostic utility(FROM HP.COM)
    5. Solution five : Check that the Digital Imaging Monitor is running
    6. Solution five :Try scanning without HP Imaging software
    7.Solution six :Try scanning without HP Imaging software

"HP cue scanning flow component problem"

Run or double click on the "HPQDSCTC" file in:

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\Bin OR c:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Bin

This should resolve the issue and if the issue persists then completely uninstall and reinstall the software from HP's website.

Try this. If it does not work, it may be a photo program like Kodak or Adobe Pjotoshop that may be conflicting with the HP software.
Let me if it works or if not, do you have any of these programs installed.

ok..my recommend

remove all software with add/remove program

go to www.hp.com and get fresh set of complete drivers for your model by operating system

re install

try it again

Can't scan from printer or computer


Close the Digital Imaging Monitor.
◄ Start or restart the services :
1. HP Cue Device Discovery.
2. HP Net Device Discovery.
3. HPQCS08.
◄ Run Digital Imaging Monitor.
◄ Wait for a Minute, if the configuration screen appears it is done else refresh the HP Cue Device Discovery
◄ Restart the Printer
◄ 99% chances of resolution and in the other cases a proper uninstall and reinstall is needed

If your HP is installed you have "HP digital imaging monitor" on your toolbar.
1. right click, you will see "HP Photosmart..." - "Display status"
2. Click "View Ink Levels"
