Is it cooling some at night but none during the day basically ? Outside unit clean also ? Good airflow ? if yes on all of these feel the copper pipes that go inside the house from the outside and once a/c has been on for a few minutes the large line should be very cool or cold to where it would condensate.. Sometimes it may take up to 15 minutes..

Copper pipes are still very hot on the outside of the house. Doesn't appear that the fan on the outside unit turned on but not sure if it is always supposed to be going when the unit is on (ran it for about 20 minutes). The air flow under the filter appears okay but not very cold. It's a Carrier brand and the led status light is on, but it's not submitting a code. Read where you can jumper the wires to reset it to get the code, but not comfortable messing with the wires. Could it be the outside unit? doesn't appear anything is jamming it up.

It is the outside unit at this point. The main electrical comes to the contactor and that contactor pulls in to give the unit power. From there it would also go through a capacitor. The capacitor is a round or oval silver canister that should be flat on the top.. Is it flat or rounded ? The fan and compressor should be on all the time the unit is calling for cooling with most models.. especially the compressor.. Its either no power to outside unit, contactor or capacitor..

I have a carrier air conditioner model 38CKC024340 it cool the house sometimes, then a block of ice will form on the unit outside and it stops cooling, what could be the problem

Have you changed the air filter?

The 2 main reasons for frozen units in cooling mode 1. Not enough air flow. 2. Low on refrigerant.

You can fix #1.
#2 will require a service call.

Carrier air conditioner isn't cooling the house. It is blowing air, but it doesn't seem to be cool air.

Check the outdoor unit to see if it is discharging hot air out of the top ofd the unit, check the insulated suction line to make sure it is cold or sweating. Try to listen to the outdoor fan and the compressor to make sure they are both operating

Verify 24 volts at the low voltage transformer inside the air handler. If it is OK, jump out the red/green and yellow thermostat wires. If everything comes on, replace the thermostat.

I need an instruction manual

If you have a good model number for the unit in question you should be able to contact carrier themselves or google the manufacture and download it if they offer it but more than likely you will have to contact the manufacture for assistance. The number is 1-800-CARRIER

Yes, first turn your thermostat to the off position. Try to reset both fuse boxes again. If the ac comes back on problem solved, if not fuses and or breakers may need to be replaced. Let me know if this helps and we can go futher into why the ac is not only reaching the temp at night. Thanks
