The parameters for the label can be either permanent or temporary. If you do not specify the correct initialization sequence, the "default" parameters will be used. This may be the case here. Print out the current parameters (I think that holding down the button while turning on the unit will cause the parameters to print, Check the manual.) Post those here along with what you require for your specific label and I'll walk you through the process.

Beside 225/50/16 what other size can fit a 2002 Mercury Cougar

Your best choice is to use the DiscountTire.com website and use the optional tools available. You can enter your vehicle and the site can be made to do alternate tire sizes.

There are some choices on the left side of the home screen and you can even find out the true road speed versus speedometer readings if you use an optional tire upgrade.

Now there are several ways to change things. Width and sidewall profile both contribute to Revolutions per mile. My Mercury car came with 60 Series tires, changing to a 65 Series of the same width gave me a 5% boost in fuel mileage with a corresponding speedometer error.

You do have some limits, wheel rim width will not work on extreme tire changes. Different width wheels would be needed. You have to consider clearance issues between the tire and frame of the car on turns. Both the inside edges of the tire must clear the frame.

The total tire height reflects 1/2 the distance change below and 1/2 the change above the wheel rim. So ride height would change and wheel opening clearance would change.

You have many choices of tire size. In sidewalls, they make 55, 60, and 65 Series tires. In width, 225,235,245 and P metric. Use the Discount Tire site, maybe the Tirerack site and work with the numbers.

Go to a Tire shop and have then pull a 50 Series, 55 Series, and 60 Series.tire in the same width. You will be able to see for yourself what the numbers mean.

I would feel comfortable saying an upgrade to a 55 Series would be no problem. You should have a Label on the doorjam to show tire sizes and inflation rates.

Please rate my info.

I have an HP 5550 Series Deskjet printer. Only recently, I have encountered difficulty printing labels. I have double-checked the Printing Properties, including label size, label paper size, Avery paper #,...

This printer have the capabilites of sense the size of label, each colomn width.
So, you must set the right size of colomn width, in your application (ms. word) to match label width.

May this help.

Zebra 105SL label issues

I am surprised that you are using that sequence of buttons to solve this problem. I am pretty sure that they want you to go into the "Media Sensor Calibration" setup in the config menu. It is a bit more complicated than what you have described. I also believe that the size of the gap on two of your labels might be out of tolerance (they are usually 1/8" gaps between the labels). The black marks are a problem for the transmissive sensors. You may need to move the transmissive media gap sensor (remember it has two parts: upper and lower). I would usually setup mine for a place beyond the black mark so that you are looking at just the white paper.

To start out:
1. Load the backing of a 6" strip of media (no label attached).
2. Remove a ribbon (if you usually use one).
3. Close the printhead.
4. Press SETUP/EXIT and then NEXT/SAVE until "Media and Ribbon Calibrate" appears.
5. Press "+" to start the calibration procedure. You should see the "Load Backing" in the LCD Display. You already have the backing loaded so continue to the next step.
6. Press "+" to answer the message and the next screen should say, "Remove Ribbon". You have also removed the ribbon.
7. Press the "+" to continue. You should see the screen say, "Calibrating Please Wait". After the sensors are setup by the machine a new screen should appear, "Reload All".
8. Open the printhead, and move the labels until they are loaded correctly to print. Smooth out the ribbon and load it correctly.
9. Withe media and ribbon now loaded, press "+" to continue and the machine should say, "Media and Ribbon Calibrate".
10. Press the Setup/Exit button once. It should say, "Save Changes Permanent". Press Next/Save to finish the process.
11. Do a normal calibration of your stock and print a label.

You are done. The machine will run for the labels you have setup the sensors for. Unfortunately, you must do this for each of the media types. To automate this, you could run a Configuration listing, capture the settings you just created for each type of label. Take these to a programmer to have them send the setup to the machine before the job. This is beyond the scope of this type support to really help you.

Z4Mplus doesn't save configuration

I had the same issue.

I'm using the seagull scientific drivers.
It turns out that the printer did not react well to changes made to it through the software.

I deleted the printer and added it again.
I made all my changes immediately through the software (creating a custom label size of 4in x 1in and portrait 180)

My print width setting on the printer is still 099 6/8 but everything prints fine.

CHR SIZE AUTO?

Press the Return button and the machine will automatically print the size the tape will allow! :) Title:
What does the error message "CHR SIZE AUTO?" mean? Description:This message appears when the selected character size is too large for the width of the tape cassette installed.

You have the following options:

  • Press the "Print" or "Return" key to allow the P-touch machine to automatically select the maximum character size that fits the tape width.

  • Press the "BS" key to clear the message, and then install a wider tape cassette.

  • Press the "BS" key to clear the message, and then select a smaller character size by following these steps:

    1. While holding the "Code" key, press the "Size" key. The display will show the current character size.

    2. Keep the "Code" key held, and press the "Size" key until the desired size is displayed.
If you select "AUTO", the P-touch machine will automatically adjust the character size to the largest possible size.

    3. Release the "Code" to apply the setting.

If you have the correct size tape installed and still get the error message, please try removing the cassette from the machine and reinstalling it. Also, check that the tape cassette is seated firmly in the compartment.

Note
The following table shows the maximum character size that can be used with each tape width.

    Tape Width Maximum Character Size 1/4" (6 mm) 12 points 3/8" (9 mm) 18 points 1/2" (12 mm) 24 points 3/4" (18 mm) 42 points
