Question about Iomega NAS 200d 160 GB Hard Drive Array

Open Question

I have a NAS 200d, and the Mother board has the number S20 on it. My hard drives failed, so I replaced and installed Windows Small business server 2003, since no recovery disk are supplied by IOMEGA with the original unit. I need the drivers for the integral Network adapter, and the SM Bus controller. Any idea where I can find these drivers, or information on the S20 motherboard? IOMEGA has been no help since this NAS has been discontinued, and want $50 to talk.

Iomega drive error

lol the storcenter is not a computer - it's a NAS storage device, and I've had one giving the same error, reset button wouldn't work - from what I understand you have to remove the four drives and upgrade the firmware

What is cisco cobo

Cisco cobo is ment for small businesses its a Network attached storage server running a small linux operating system. There are different sizes of hard drives and in most cases more drives can be added.

basically its the same as a USB hard drive, but its connected to a network and all computers in that network can access the files on it.

I have a 1 tb desktop type network storage drive of Iomega. I installed it couple of days back. Every thing seems working fine except that the drive shuts down on its own every few hours say appx 5-6...

Since your using NAS storage I assume the 1 TB drive is connected via your router? Is it powered by the USB port or plugged in via AC Adapter? If your powering the drive via USB go to the router setup page-NAS setup and make sure the router is not telling the USB port to save energy by powering down. Make sure the port is always on. The Router setup is proprietary to the Brand of router my Netgear R7000 with Kong DD-WRT Mod has a setting that controls power to the USB Ports. Make sure the drive enclosure isn't hot they have a tendancy to power down if they get to hot. Clean the vents if it has any so the drive stays at a normal operating temp

Good morning. I have installed in my Company a Iomega nas model 450R. This morning after a reboot,it seems it can't find the boot disk and the nas asks for a operating system restore or go back to factory...

It seems that the main hard drive in this server either went bad, had a windows corruption or that one of the internal connections inside this server went bad.

You would need to check on all three of these areas to make sure 1) the main hard drive is functional (which is my first suspision so check the hard drive for errors and if it fails you would need to do a data transfer to a new hard drive). 2) use your windows software to repair the dammaged registry that may have been corrupted somehow (only do this if the main server's hard drive passes its hardware tests).

You would need to run the original os but I would need to know which one you are using to guide you more to solving the regisrty issue.

3) Hopefully tis server has a warrenty and it may need replacing if all else is working.

Try #1 which is the highest supected for failed hard drive issue (remember if discovered that main hd is bad you may need to perform a data transfer immediatly and replace with a new hard drive.

any other questions please write back with status :)

Trying to install server 2003, error message is setup did not find any hard disks installed in your computer, system has two drive w/xp (fdisked for clean install)

If you have SATA harddrives you must install the drivers before the OS. Usually the mother board disk contains these drivers or download then for the HD manufactors.
