Clean the fans. when a fan is rotating it impacts on dust particles at high speed this causes build up and an imballance which causes airflow disruption (noise). As long as you can get sound out of it I don't see the problem, Most stand alone cards give a better sound quality than inbuilt audio chips anyway. Also, they give more control over the sound output.

SOURCE: Upgrading CPU on Asus PSBW-LA motherboard

Dealing with OEM PC's can be rather difficult. Most of the specifications on those chips are the same, except the FSB (Front System Bus). The E6300 is 1066MHz and the E6550 is 1333MHz. I don't believe that this is set by jumpers (i'm 95% sure). I would look into BIOS to see if it is an available option to change (though most of the time this setting is set on AUTO). There is a chance that you will need to provide a BIOS update. If you chose to do this be very careful as this is dangerous. Should something interupt this (power outage or something like that) your computer could become useless. Definitely make sure to do a lot of research and preparation before performing an update.

Dell optiplex 760 tower fan noise problem

Its important to try and distinguish where exactly the noise is coming from the most typical example of this is the PSU fan (Power Supply Fan). The above also is very correct but its better to eliminate each point of failure.

Asus f3j bios mod for upgraded ram

Not sure what you are asking about. Asus site says the motherboard will take DDR2 533/667MHz SDRAM, 2x SO-DIMM socket expandable to 2GB
Which means DDR2 533mhz 1 gig per slot total 2gig
or DDR2 667mhz 1 gig per slot total 2 gig

To enter BIOs press F2 at boot up, but no setting should need to be changed.

They do not have a BIOs update for increasing the memory limits.
BIOs upgrades from first to current are.

How to recover my intel pentium D 2.8ghz processor its over heating of 70 degrees.

If your system is five years old or older it is possible that the thermal grease/tape has dried and will need replaced. There is no need to remove the CPU for this. If you can enter your bios you can also check the fan speed of your CPU heatsink fan rpm. It should run between 2800rpm and as high as 3500rpm. If its not than replace your heatsink assembly.

D865 Intel Motherboard overheating

The 50% useage of the CPU is the problem not a fan issue. You have a memory glitch or IRQ setting causing this. Go back to basics look for a Video problem or shared memeory - does this board have onboard video, does it have onboard audio, have you installed a add in video/audio card? Check your bios settings, look at shadow memeory useage.

Fan rpm prob

First you say it shuts down before Bios, than you say in Bios it shows fan rpms are 0000?
get on the internet and search for computer beep codes, but it sounds like the fan for the processor has quit working. One way to find out is to open the computer case, start it up, and see if the fans are working. If it is just a bad fan, than that is an easy and cheap fix.

when you boot your computer open up the bios menu, i forget which tab it is under but there should be an option called S.M.A.R.T fan or SCSI if it is disabled enable it this should fix it, if you do not have this option or if it doesnt work this is a link to a fan control program called speedfan http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Cpu fan noise problem

You should check and make sure the inside of your computer isn't dusty. Dust will wreak havok on fans and shorten their life. Plus it likes to build up between the fan and heatsink which will overheat your processor. Take the fan off and spin it with your fingers. I like to open the little sticker on the bottom and put some 3 in 1 oil to lubricate it. A smooth spinning fan is a happy computer. It also reduces noise that a dirty fan makes. Hope this helps you.

PC shuts dowm

It sounds like your computer is running to Hot>
You can check the temp. in tour Bios if you just want to see how hot it is running
I usually will run the computer for awhile and the reboot
and and before then press F4 or sometimes F2 to then go to setup
From there you bios will be there and you can see if your fans and the cpu temp and your Video cards temp..Which could be also getting too Hot and if you tweak it or if the Fans on the boards are covered in dust this will cause it to heat up. That goes same for the Cpu Fan too.

Note Please do not make any changes to your BIOS and don't Save anything

Thank You

Processor upgrade from 1.6 to 2.4

Hi zmoonz,
you must be missing something. Please go over this Intel link:
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d850mv/sb/CS-009910.htm
Double check your board revision. Instruction / location for this is on the site above. Even though you have the correct revision no# the Pent 4, 2.4GHz CPU can only run with the correct revision (AA numbers) listed.
There are no jumpers on the Intel D850MV MB to help increase the CPU speed nor bios menu to help. Enter the bios. Open Main. This bios does not allow any CPU options.
