Its a RAM issue. you should open your laptop and reinsert your RAM. If you cant do so then go to nearest service center and ask him to reinsert RAM. okay

I need as restore cd for my emachines e725 laptop. I can not talk to anyone at emachine.com

In the past, I have telephoned eMachines and have ordered (about $20) a replacement "System Recovery" set of CD-ROMs for my eMachine computer. Add another $20 for overnight-courier.

Tip

Perform an E-Machine Factory Restore.

Place the recovery disk that came with the eMachines computer into the CD or DVD drive. Restart the computer.
Click "Next" when the operating system restoration screen appears. Click "Repair Your Computer" and then select "Next."
Locate your eMachine's current operating system in the list of available operating systems, such as "Windows Vista." Click the appropriate choice and then choose "Next."
Select "Load Drivers" and wait for the drivers to finish installing. Select "System Restore" and then click "Next."
Scroll down through the list of available restore points. Select the first restore point if you want to completely revert the computer to factory settings. Select a later restore point if you just want to roll back any changes to your computer to an earlier date.
Click "Next" and then select "Finish." Click "Yes" and then choose "Restart" to restore the eMachines computer.

Gateway laptop reset

Gateway Direct systems went "media-less" back in September 2004. In the event of a system crash users could either 1) restore their systems from the Recovery Partition OR 2) from the backup media that they were prompted to create on first power-up -- which would provide them with up to 5 blank CD-R discs depending on their system's configuration.

On the factory load of the hard drive, the recovery partition will not contain operating system files. It only contains application and driver files.
The first time the recovery partition is used, it prompts the user to insert their System Recovery CD/DVD to copy files from the CD to the recovery partition.
The Drivers and Applications CD is not bootable and does not contain Operating System files.
The System Recovery CD/DVD is bootable but does not contain any application or driver files.
If the end-user erases the hard drive and restores the computer using the System Recovery CD/DVD and an Applications and Drivers CD, the recovery partition is not recreated.

This means that you will need the operating system restore disc FIRST then the recovery partition will work for you

I had to restore my emachine to factory settings

Open "My Computer".
Insert a "data" CD, and hold the LEFT-SHIFT key down for a minute.
Watch the icon for the CD-drive change from the "standard" icon to something specific to the data CD.
Right-mouse-click on the CD's icon, and choose "Explore",
to open Windows Explorer to view the "data" files on the CD-disk.

I've just got an Emachine E525 I installed programes using the dvd drive that all worked fine, but now my dvd drive won't work

Power off the machine and then unplug the power for 30 seconds. Boot it back up and see if it can read the same cd's that you loaded before. If it can't then the drive might have to be replaced.

Still trying to restore my emachines comp. tried restore windows xp when prompted, it came back with error accessing file?

This error can show up during installation of the operating system either via the hard drive (the restore feature is located on the hard drive and shows up as a drive letter under My Computer) which indicates that you have bad memory,
OR
You are installing from a DVD or CD, in which case it could be either bad memory or a bad disk.

good luck

Operating system didnot reinstall

Try tapping F12 as soon as you turn the system on. Make sure that the CD is inside the CD drive before you press F12. Or if F12 is not the right key to launch you boot options, try to insert the disk, if you see "press a key to continue", then press a key right away. Try another XP CD, if you have one.

I am using cpmpaq presario c772tu laptop with xp sp2 os, can u tell me right audio driver for it?

be sure that you are installing the correct driver from the site with the one that you are needing. Make sure they match. If they do and you are still having the problem, Go to your computer's control panel and do an auto hardware search. If that does not work, try doing a System Restore. If that does not work, back up your files and reformat your hard drive and reinstall your operating system. But, use this as a last case scenario. If you can find other suggestions posted anywhere (maybe search google and post your specific problem on your specific laptop). I hope any one of these suggestions helps you. I have had the same problem a couple of times. One time doing an auto hardware search corrected the problem. The other time, I ended up just having to reformat the hard drive and then I reinstalled my operating system. Ohh, on another instance, I did a system restore, and it found the hardware that was not showing on my laptop, but the hardware then was not my cd/dvd drive.

Intel Pentium IV Trouble (40gig)

os not found usually means that your hd is faulty.
try remove hd and reseat it.
if no joy have os disk(windows) in cd drive start pc and boot from disk.
select install windows...system checks drive and informs of existing os..want to continue...install windows...next screen shows partitions.choose to delete partition then create new then format and install.
if when u try to boot from disk system say no hd found then hd is damaged.
