There should be a an opening on the front panel or a piece of plastic that you can pop off to see the ignitor.start the dryer and while your clothes are drying after around 20 to 30 minutes look in the hole and see if the flame is lighting or is the ignitor just glowing and then it goes out without the flame lighting.if this is what's happening and sounds like it is you have bad gas coils.they will work until they heat up and then they fail, when they cool down they will work again for like 20 minutes and then shut down again.this is an easy fix, just take out the two phillips screws that hold the coils down on top of the gas valve, remove the cover and change out the coils.let me know what you find

the part number for the coils is 279834,this is for both coils and cost around 22 bucks, also when was the last time you cleaned the dryer?.you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into,if the vent line is long, remove it from the back of the dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower, then vac and blow out the motor and the gas parts, there's an open flame in the dryer, you should do this once a year so you don't have a fire and so your dryer will run correctly.if it's not the coils it will be the clean out

My gas drier shuts off before clothes are dried

Also it can be a few other issues:

1: It could be an issue with the lint catcher. Take the lint catcher out, clean off all the see-able lint, then take it to the bathroom and try to run water through it. If the water settles or doesn't run through very well, take an old toothbrush and scrub that clean under water until water passes through easily. This issue caused my dryer to shut off without being dry too
2: Depending on how new your dryer is, it may have a dryness sensor in it. That sensor may not be working well or at all causing the problem as well.
3: Finally your heater could be going out in your dryer and causing it to hot get hot enough in the time you set for the clothes to be dry.

Hope these 3 things help you.

How can I reduce the humidity of the air expelled from the dryer?

If the aire being expelled is humid then this suggests that the unit if working fine. if clothes are still damp then maybe give them a second spin before putting in the drier, or dry them for longer. Also try putting less in the drier and drying in two loads.

I have this gas dryer that should be no more than 2 years old. It was working fine until a couple weeks ago. Then suddenly the dry time went from about 55 minutes to out of control (don't know how long it...

If you are for certain the vent system is clean all the way through, it sounds like the limit switch(es) could be weak and tripping the drier heat off prematurely. I believe we actually have your same dryer but electric and the switches are pretty easy to get to from the bottom front panel. If you have the drawer system underneath, you may have to pull it out to get it out of the way before you can take the bottom panel off. The limit switch is close to the burner and blower assembly, they generally have two wires going to them and they are about the size of a quarter. They are an inexpensive part compared to other things on the drier. It the limit is tripping you will be able to watch the flame go on and off intermittently. Hope this helps you in any way.

Is there a reset button? Dryer wont dry but does

Does this heat up at all? Gas/Electric? Does it dry by 'sensor'? At this age, if you use softener sheets, the drier thinks everything is dry.

If you dry by sensor, you probably have a problem with a certain coating on your sensor from softening sheets. clean the sensor in accord with the instructions from the manufacturer. Shy of that, you can use alcohol to clean the sensor. You will probably find it on the back wall of your drier.

Orange crayon melted all over the drum of drier and I cannot get it cleaned. Any suggests?

You now have hot melted wax coating EVERYTHING, I bet.

First, unplug your dryer, for safety.
Now take some turpentine or wd-40 and dampen a cloth with it.
Scrub, scrub away.
once it's clean(will take a LOT of elbow grease), you'll want to clean up the solvent.
A wash-cloth, dampened with soapy water, will do a pretty good job here.
Finally, leave the machine OPEN for a good solid day/night.
This lets any fumes remaining from the solvent escape.
this is important, if you don't want to blow up your dryer when you next start it up.

Electric drier takes 2 to 3 cycles to dry one normal size load

Have you tried cleaning the actual inside of the drier?
When you use drier sheets the wax on the sheets melts onto your clothes and makes them soft, but the wax often gets stuck in the holes of the drier making it incapable of drying the clothes in one load. Try scrubbing the inside of your drier with some hot water.

Leb6200 wont completely dry clothes first time.

the problem is most likely an airflow problem. if you have a flexible duct connected to the back of the machine then replace it with a smooth rigid (not pvc) metal duct. clean inside the wall or wherever the air goes to get outside (must be smooth metal at least 4" in diameter) in the wall, without too many bends. the electrical arc you spoke of would not have an effect on the heating element unless the machine is not heating at all.

Maytag Neptune W/D (Stacked) Drying Irregularly

Mj, 90% of the time long dry times are caused by a pinched or clogged vent. Other things that could be causing this are: cycling thermostat trips too soon, if your dryer is a gas model, weak gas valve coils, drive motor centrifugal switch not allowing voltage to the gas valve or heating element. Check the harness to the motor to make sure it is on tight. Catriver...post back.
