Question about HTC G1
Ok; The SD card is a memory card that stores data that your native memory cant handle, due to size restrictions. If the card is indeed inserted correctly, I would advise to remove the SD card and battery for 5 minutes. Be sure to power off the device before extracting those components. This 5 minute hard reset should correct the misreadings. If for some reason the reset does not correct the misreadings, this will ultimately lead to a SD card slot fault. This is considered to be hardware failure and you will need to take the device to your local provider for hardware service.

Tips for a great answer:
To format a microSD memory card follow the steps below:
Jun 18, 2011 | Samsung Star GT-S5233 Cell Phone
Apr 15, 2011 | Nokia 6630 Cellular Phone
Jan 27, 2011 | Computers & Internet
You may need to format the memory card with your Nokia device.
However, all data in the memory card is permanently deleted if you format the memory card.
It is recommended to back up device memory regularly to the memory card. The information can be restored to your device
To back up information from device memory to a memory card, select Menu > Tools > Memory card > Options > Backup
To restore information from the memory card to the device memory, select Menu > Tools > Memory card >
Options > Restore from card.
Do not remove a memory card when the card is being accessed. Removing the card in the middle of an operation may damage
the memory card as well as the device, and data stored on the card may be corrupted.
If you cannot use a memory card in your device, you may have the wrong type of memory card, the card may not be formatted
for your device, or the card has a corrupted file system.
Tip: You can install and remove a memory card without removing the battery or powering off the device.
