Question about HP vs17

1 Answer

No power My HP vs17 has no power. It was working fine till this morning. I have checked all of the cables and have done a reboot and still I have no power; no light nothing. I am using the same system an HP Pavilion a1223w with my extra monitor, a HP vs15 and it works fine. What could be the issue? Thank you, Charlie

Try totally disconnecting the monitor and reboot your system.
Disconnecting the VGA connections.
After the system reboots, plug the monitor in and power on and reconnect the VGA connection.

LCD Monitor will power in and when connects to modem the power button is green then turns orange, what is the problem?

When the monitor button turns to yellow that means the monitor is on standby mode. Try rebooting the the computer after you have connected it to your modem. If the light goes to yellow again check that the computer is on and that all the cables are connected properly. HP Computer monitors are a little confusing, Sometimes depressing the power button again while it is yellow will turn it on and should so green.

Power light on flashing but no screen

Hello.

There is either a problem with your monitor, VGA cable or PC's video connector. Try another PC or another monitor to narrow down your problem.

If another monitor works, swap the VGA cable on your old monitor.

If another monitor doesn't work, your video connector is faulty.

Hope this helps.

Monitor power light blinks, then goes out. PC screen goes black.

Unplugging the power cord repeatedly is not a good idea! I hope this helps: 1- After you get a picture, go to "Device manager" (Click on Start-Programs-settings-device manager) and make sure that there is not question or an exclamation mark next to Monitors. If that is the case you might need to reinstall the driver! 2- Make sure that your video card is not faulty by hooking up a different monitor and see if it is working ok. If you still have the same problem, then you need to replace the video card. 3- Check all cables and power cords and make sure that there's good connectivity on all ends (before powering up the machine) and that there are no nicks or cuts. If possible try replacing the monitor's data cable as well. Good luck

Hp vs17 has white screen at boot. I have eliminated the chord from the tower and the tower works fine. I have audio, no video. Only a white blank screen. It does not blink or flicker. It just stays white....

There are three choices here...bad screen, bad connection, or bad video card, if the card is integrated onto the motherboard, then that part of the motherboard could be bad. If you have access to another monitor or a TV with a vga input, try the computer with another monitor. If you get a signal on that other monitor then you know you either had a bad connection with the other monitor or you lost the screen on the old one. Go back and reseat your video connections with the computer off. Don't ever remove or move cables to the monitor and video with the computer running...the screen can suffer permanent damage. If there is no signal on any monitor, then either you have a bad vga cord or your video graphics card had died.

check screen light is it light green/yellow or is it orange in colour.....if it is orange check PC is turned light green also....if not then it defined that their is a problem with your PC itself and not the screen......have a technician looked @ your PC.....

Nothing happens when I press the power button on HP vs17 lcd monitor.

You might want to check and make sure that your power is plugged in [obviusly], next check to make sure that your data cale is properly connected or that your computer isnt in stand-by mode or hibernation. When your monitor doesnt receive data to display it goes into 'power saving mode' which simply is this 'Wake me up when you have something you want me to show'. SO try and unplug your your AC power for a bit and while doing that double check that your data cables are 'thumbs up' then reconnect your AC and try powering up. If all this doesnt work, and you're using a graphics card to send input to your monitor, check your graphics card, or try and listen for any fan noises just to make sure your computer has life...

SPEAKERS

Hi Jonathan,

Pls check if the cables are connected to the right port.
Also check the monitor volume settings.

Pls check with a set of powered speakers.

Pls run dxdiag from Run in Start menu if you are using windows.

Also you can check for any issued with the drivers or any driver updates.

Pls try a system restore also if none of the above steps work.

NO SOUND!

Hi

Pls check if the audio cable from the monitor is connected to the tower. Make sure it is connected to the green port at the back.
Also check the volume button on the side of the monitor and set it to maximum.

If this doesnt work, then try with another pair of external speakers and check.
