Question about Sony VAIO VGN-N130G/W Notebook

1 Answer

My sony VAIO laptop keeps making a clicking, rattling like sound and i want to kow how to stop it. It started happening because i left my laptop on a couch for an extended period of time. I read in forums online that my laptop was overheated and i need a cooling fan. So i purchased a cooling system but the sound remains. It comes on every now and then but it is frequent whenever i watch videos and play games. I would like to know whether i could fix it myself and how i could fix it or if i have to take it to a Sony retailer.

Sounds like the fan in your laptop is failing or is damaged, when you run graphic intensive applications and the fan turns on is that then you hear the noise if so it is your fan and you should see about getting it replaced because the components in your laptop will over heat and stop working.

Sony vaio vgn cs 12gh b at start up there is a beep beep sound, pretty loud, and when the password box comes it's automatically filling wwwwwwwwww endlessly. when it's finally open there is this...

Clear the saved passwords
Sony VAIO Care, an application pre-installed on most Sony laptops, is designed to automatically check for computer updates and to assist you with troubleshooting and maintenance. The application is configured to start as soon as the computer powers on. Although Sony VAIO Care is helpful, it is not necessary for it to launch automatically, as having too many programs launch at startup can cause your computer to run slowly. You can disable VAIO Care so it does not run at startup.

Click on "Start," then click "All Programs." Click on the "Accessories" folder. Click on the "System Tools" folder and click "Task Scheduler." Type your Administrator password, if asked for one, and click "Continue." The Task Scheduler window appears. Click on "Task Scheduler Library" in the left pane. Click on "VAIO Care." Click "Disable" under the "Actions" heading on the right side of the window. Close the window. When you next start the computer, VAIO Care will not automatically run

Hope this helps.

My Sony Vaio VGN-FS690P has stopped playing sound. The sound card states it is working correctly. It does play one sounds, the sound when it starts and show the VAIO screen.

Hopefully this helps. Right click on your volume control icon. Open the "Volume Mixer," and make sure that nothing has the mute X on. Then right click on "Volume Control," and make sure that the volume control is checked to play all sounds, and that your Speaker box is checked. Next step is your music, if the sound was muted directly @ the music playback, this could be the problem. Open your Media Player and try to play music, if you cannot hear it, click on the mute button to the song playing. If your Player was shut off in the "mute" mode, then you will not hear sound. It Happened to me once. You will need to check all of your "Players" to see if any of them were shut off in "mute."

Input devices on vaio laptop stopped working

Dear Sue_s46,

Try and double chek all settings relate to keyboard and mouse by following below steps.

go to control panle- Mouse, double check it has not changed the settings the way normally works for left-right click and wheel.

regarding keyboard, go to control panle- regional and language settings. double check all settings are fine there.

if you dont get luck with anything, you might have Sony utility relate to keyboard/mouse. you can search for that program from start menu and within all programms.

let me know, if nothing works or any other issues.

also, let me know which operating system you have on Sony Laptop?

Many Thanks.

Charging problem in sony vaio VGN-N220E

sounds more like your dc jack(where you insert your plug into the laptop ) is going bad. If you have a multimeter the first thing to test would be your charger to make sure it isnt faulty. If the charger is fine then it is most certainly the dc jack. Replacing the dc jack is best to be left to someone who specializes in that kind of repair but if you know how to solder it may be something that you can do yourself. click here for more info on dc jacks.

My 2004 ford f150 xlt has a rattiling sound coming from the left front end of the truck. the sound is a tinny rattling sound that only happens when I am going up hill and pressing down on the gas. When I...

Check the heat shield to the exhaust manifolds, good chance that the bolts on them have rusted off or is loose causing the Heat Shields to rattle making the tinny rattle noise. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know if that's making the noise, and if not we can look at other things.

Laptop Speakers Dont Work

Start, control panel, sounds and audio devices. Check "volume" and check if to see if the speakers are "muted". If not, select "sound" the sound profile should be "windows default" if not change it by using the down arrow on the side. Try the "sounds" by clicking on one of them like "asterisk" then clicking on the "right" arrow beside the "browse". This should play the selected sound if the speakers are working.
