Back light won't turn on. everything else works. I've tried resetting, and reformatting the ipod touch 3rd gen to default setting. nothing. i returned it to Apple, they said it was accidental damage, (water).

Well if the backlight is broken and you have done every attempt from a reset to taking it to a apple store and they concluded it was from water damage there isnt much you can do on the user level unless you have experience in micro-component repair. In my experience i always send my ipod to a online repair company that guarantees there work. I have never had any issues with them and they have fixed 5 of my ipods on a dozen occasions. Click here for ipod repair service. If you feel that this is not cost effective id say use it as it is or replace it. but really it most likely needs a new screen but without myself taking it apart or you taking it apart and looking over the circuitry i cant say for sure that a screen is all that would need replacing.

If you need further assistance please feel free to follow up with a comment and i will be here to assist you. If this assisted you please feel free to rate the comment. thanks and have a great day.

My iPod Touch (3rd gen) will not play through my IS630 docking station. What might I be doing wrong?

Does the IS630 say it will work with your model iPod and iOS 7.0.4? Not all docking stations are compatible.
Have you went to their support site?
Sometimes this works

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren't affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to backup

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Sometimes an iOS updates breaks compatibility and you will have to wait for iOS update or an update to the dock's firmware.

The slide bar will not slide to unlock on my ipod touch 2nd generation. I've tried restarting. It holds a charge and I can play it on my docking station. I can't use it by itself.

I had the same problem with my iPod touch 3rd Generation, the slide bar will not slide to unlock. I could however use the slide to power off at the top of the screen. I tried everything from rebooting it to a full restore and nothing worked. I finally took the Touch Screen Glass Digitizer off and the ribbon cable that connects to the board had come loose. I pluged it back in and everything worked again.

I've got an iPod 3rd gen and i'm trying to restore it, but is coming up with an error (2003). Can you help?

Hi joshua4god...

"Try this: I found this solution by one of the other experts here,,.

Turn off your ipod, and hold the home button, and plug it into itunes while still holding the home button until the itunes symbol appears with a cable under it.
Itunes should say "ipod found in restore mode".
Restore your ipod to either a backup of that ipod if there is one, or set up a new ipod.
Setting up a new ipod will fix any previous problem.

How do you upgrade ipod touch 2nd gen to be able to play fifa 11 we thought this was a 3rd gen when bought from argos in feb10 but told 3rd gen is onle 32gb or 64gb

to update your ipod touch second gen to 4.1 version you must connect to your itunes account on your computer with ipod attatched sync all apps, music, videos, everything because it will delete everything and needs everything backed up. then go to your ipod on itunes and it will say update, click it it will take around half an hour to update and restore you ipod fully. This worked for my ipod touch gen 2, it kept saying when i tried to update i still have things on my ipod not synced to itunes when i have synced multiple times but it updated ok and i do not notice anything missing. this is all i know about this i hope it helps.
