Question about Jacuzzi Refresh Hygiene Toilet Seat Round EU44959

1 Answer

I bought a new Jacuzzi toilet and from day one the screws that hold the seat on will not tighten down enough to keep the seat from slipping out when i go to sit on it. This is very irretating, when you are a women and have to sit on this seat 3 or 4 times a day, not counting the quit movement that startels a person and could possibly cause injury. I have tighten it down as tight as i could each time, tighten enough to dis form the top of the plastic screw head. HELP!!!!!

Three wraps of white teflon tape on the threads will often help to keep the assembly tight longer. Since the fastener is made of nylon, there is not really any sort of glue that will work.

Toilet seat too loose

Is the nut thats on the under side fastened all the way and If you've done that and the screw keeps getting loose then the threads inside the nut or on the screw may be worn away. If thats the case, you may have to by some new screws and I'm not sure if they sell those separately you would usually have to buy a new toilet seat to get new screws, but try home depot or walmart.

My toilet seat in not stationary any more- it has shifted-- can you help??? Connie

Connie the seat has become loose.
There are two nuts under the rim of the toilet, under the hinges of
the seat.

First line the seat up so it's straight, then tighten the nuts, just
tight enough so the seat doesn't shift any more.

Usually seat nuts are plastic and they have four tabs on them.
You can use a small pliers to turn the nuts.
I have a special socket for toilet seat nuts, that I can put on
a ratchet. But to tell you the truth, I have tightened seats 90
percent of the time with a pliers. I am too lazy to dig in my tool
box for the socket.

All my best and God Bless.

Have to replace two new toilets seats, the seats move

Martin, Jacuzzi has a one year warranty on toilet seats so if you have defective seats and they were purchased less than a year it is covered you will have to find a dealer near you, I provided a link for you to accomplish this. How is the seat attached? There should be two plastic screws with a nut on the underside which can be tightened these tend to loosen and nee re-tightening every so often. I hope this has helped. Thanks for using FIXYA, good luck and have a great day. Jeff

first need to buy the longer oval seat so it sits correctly at the front most mounting screws are universal-- go buy thin rubber washers and trim and place between the hinge and bowl than tighten down this will stop slippage but the front if not correctly sitting on the bowl will still cause problems

Reach under the bowl of the toilet and feel for a rather large wing-nut bolt on each side of the toilet. You must hold these with your hand and tighten the screws with a screwdriver. If you don't hold these wingnuts, then the screws will keep spinning forever and never tighten. Run your hand directly below the toilet just below the screws and you will find them. VERY EASY FIX!
