Question about Cell Phones

I can not receive calls in all parts of my home. I purchased a panasonic set before we moved and by the time I set it up and found that it didn't work, as far as range, the 30 day return policy was over. I can't use the phone in the kitchen, it will disconnect. HELP

Hello,

The problem is not the phone, but a network problem, the network service provider you are using is very bad in the area you just moved to, that is why you have limited service in some areas, the phone is not the problem as far it acquire service in some part of your apartment, if it does, the problem is the network service of your new area. Experiment this, take the phone outside your apartment, see if you will acquire full service, if you do, the problem is the network service.

Take care.

My parents are getting rid of their Panasonic SC-HT700. The receiver is shot. The speakers and sub work perfectly fine. I was wondering if I could purchase a used receiver (found the SC-HT930 on ebay) to...

the speakers are 6 ohms, and it will be very difficult to find a receiver that is 6 ohm compatible. most home amps are 8 ohm, and will overheat and burn up when used with 6 ohm speakers.

the subowoofer is 4 ohms, but i am unsure as to whether it is self-powered, or if it is powered by the receiver.

4 ohms is the standard for car audio, and 8 ohms for home audio.

Can I divert calls from this phone to another phone? Thanks MArk David

  • Figure out if your particular cell phone model has the option to forward incoming calls. You can do this by visiting your cell phone manufacturer's website or reading the manufacturer's manual that came along with the purchase.

  • Access the "Settings" menu on your cell phone and select "Phone Settings" menu.

  • Select the "Call Forwarding" option in the "Phone Settings menu. This option is usually found at the bottom of the "Phone Settings" menu. Selecting the "Call Forwarding" option gives you access to call-forwarding controls.

  • Switch on the "Call Forwarding" slider. The default position is off.

  • Insert the phone number you wish to forward your calls to in the "Forward To" field. This field most commonly lies below the "Call Forwarding" slider.

  • Exit the setup menu by pressing the home button. You may be asked to confirm/save the changed settings depending on your cell phone model.

  • Make a test phone call to the cell phone number on which you just enabled the call rerouting option. If the call is forwarded and received on the number you entered, it means that the "Call Forwarding" option has been activated.

Will my Australian DVD recorder & Plasma TV work in the USA?

Hi. No they won't work. Different systems here (found out the hard way). Ironically we are now moving back to Australia from New Jersey and we have nearly the exact same system that we have to sell before coming back !

Access voicemail from another line while away from home

The previous solution only works for older machines. I have the same Panasonic model and this works every time.
On your handset, hit the top center button(menu). Touch the arrow down button 7 times. Should say "Initial settings". Hit top right button on handset (display shows this is now the "select" key). Display now shows "Set Answering". Hit top right button again ( select key). Display now reads "Ring Count". Hit arrow down button 2 times. Display now reads "Remote Code". Hit select key again and enter your desired 2 digit remote code. Hit "Off" key. When you call the answering machine from the road, simply enter those same digits. Piece of cake. Enjoy.

This is a standard cord for "Panasonic" units. It is essentially D shaped with an indent. Any electronics store should have these as universal replacement cords. They should cost $3-$5.
