Hi,
Make sure lamp cover (its the first thing that you removed from tv cabinet to replace lamp) is fixed on its position correctly.
Lamp cover push a micro safety switch that tells system control that lamp cover is tight.
If lamp cover has not been fixed back in position, tv wont turn On.
Let me know model number of tv if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Problem sounds with ballast supply board that drives lamp with high voltage.
If you follow red thick wires from lamp housing, it will take you to ballast supply board.
This is not user level repair and visual check by qualified tech is necessary, please call Philips service center to send out tech.

Do you have any idea what the cost would be to fix the problem??

ah, again I have to break unpleasant news
If Philips provides you ballast supply separately then cost would be around $350 or so

Part number is written on ballast supply board, once you take it out.
I'm still thinking about lamp and its installation, is it Philips original lamp supplied with its black housing?
Are you sure that new lamp has been installed correctly in two thick wire connector in its box?

  • pastortravis Aug 20, 2010

The lamp came without the black housing.. I ordered it from a TV supply store online.. I just took the old one out and connected the wires back.. everything seems to be good and tight.. Is there a way to check in see if the lamp is getting power??

The lamp was purchased from a TV supply store online. It did't come with the black housing.. is there a way to test to see that power is getting to the lamp?? Thanks..

    Shahid Electronics Aug 20, 2010

humm, that means bulb was replaced in old lamp housing, right?
recheck lamp connections and two lamp wires that should tight
Lamp can be tested in another tv that use similar lamp, do not try to measure ballast volts as these are high volts approx 15K or more

frankly, I do not trust these low price bulbs and always recommend to buy original lamp from manufacturer (Philips)

Rating can be changed by accepting solution/ assistance

1. did you close the hatch?

If you just replaced the bulb you need to button up the tv basically put it back the way it was not leaving the access door open.

if the hatch door is closed you might want to go back in there and check the bulb. if the bulb is good it might be a ballast issue.

let me know

otherwise please do click the accept button for my efforts.

Phillips tv no pic no sound just flashing light

Its not going to be a do it yourself repair--likely a bad board or even boards--have a repair center (authorized for this brand) inspect it.

Just getting a set like this apart safely is tricky.

I have a Hoover Zodiac12 2-speed reversible motor i want to use for a home project. Its a Nuova Ibmei with 5 terminals. The wires are L to R and top to bottom; 1. black stripe, 2. blue, 3. yellow, 4. red...

You will destroy the motor by running it with multiple speeds tied together. So be careful. Just try and get it to work with 2 wires and tape the others off away from each other and the frame so they won't short anything out. themobilian_795.jpg

My Philips tv 60PL9200-37 has sound, but NO picture. The front blue light flashes 6 times slow,pause,5 times fast. Once in a blue moon picture and sound are ok. What could be wrong?

Hello,

When your television actually flashes the front blue light, it is passing a message that there is a problem inside the unit. There are 2 things you should check but my best bet is that it is the t-con board of the television that is bad. The other component you can check is the lamp, but if the lamp is faulty you will not be getting sound therefore the problem is from the t-con board.

It is located by the middle of the main panel of the television, once you get it replaced, the television will be in good shape.

Take care and good luck

I have a Phillips 50pl9126d/37 it wont turn on picture or sound blue light in the front flashes 6 times fast looked at the bulb and it doesnt seem broken ie( no glass bits inside broken off) otherwise...

I currently have this problem also. However my TV is blinking 6 times fast and then 5 times slowly. I was told by a TV repairman that it was in fact the bulb or lamp. I plan to replace it, soon, I will keep you posted hopfully it works.

Red light flashing.set will not start up.

When the TV does this, the RED LED on the front will blink. For digits 1-10 it will blink pause then repeat. For numbers with 2 digits it will blink the first digit slow and then second digit fast. So 25 would be 2 slow blinks followed by 5 fast blinks.

Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.
