SOURCE: monitor light blinking

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing statebecause of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

SOURCE: I have a LG Flatron 22", LCD monitor, model is W22345. dilemma: after sleeping the computer for the night, as I have been doing for the past 8 months that the computer and monitor has been in my owne

Check the video cable, replace them, and if didnt work, try to reset the config stored on the settings of the monitor (usually by menu).

Some electronic problems could do the same simptom. check the manual for hints.

Good luck

Flatron w2252tq

Hello Shan,

The W2252tq uses the AIP-0165 power supply board that is also used in the L227Wtg series LG series monitor. This board is known to have issues with the filter capacitors going out. When they go out it causes the monitor to not power up just lie you have. Here is a picture of the power supply board in the unit and below is a link to a repair guide for the L227Wtg, since it has the same power supply the repair guide for the board will be the same.

LG Flatron L227WTG goes to black/dim

Your problem is a very common one. That model uses the Aip-0165 power supply board and when the capacitors on the board start failing if can't power up the monitor correctly so you get a dim picture, after continued use the monitor will fail all the way. Here is a link to a repair guide that will show you what to look for and replace on the power supply board to get it back up and running again.

Hello, maybe you've got to switch the output from your laptop screen to the external screen, if so, it will be by pressing and holding down the Function button and at the same time pressing one of the Function keys (at the top of your keyboard). On mine, (an HP) it's F4, but you'll see a symbol on the correct key that looks like a screen. Regards, nicam49

Similar to TV - you need to adjust the "H" - Horizontal and "V" - Vertical. Horizontal will move picture up or down and Vertical will adjust left to right.

Use the menu button on your monitor.

I have a L227WTG and it will noit turn on, power button just keeps flashing and will not tuirn on the monitor. Help?

Unhook the monitor from the pc. Then go ahead and turn on the monitor. If the same thing happens then its an issue with the monitor and the monitor would have to be replaced. If the monitor turns on after unhooking it from the pc then its an issue with the pc.

Lg Flatron L226wTQ, power button failing

Hello,

This problem is usually caused by a failure in the power supply board which in turn is caused by a failure of the filter capacitors. We have a repair guide article posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/lg-l226wtq-bf-monitor-repair/ Check out the article and then open your monitor up and look for the failed capacitors, replace them if found and you should be back going again.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
