We have a wonderful SubSero bottom frezer refrigerator. Recently the refrigerator is making a loud motor sound that we have never heard before. I think we need some maintanence. Please advise.

If the sound is from the inside the freezer compartment its a small fan that circulates air. If it is from the back outside of the unit its your condensor fan motor. You can replace these yourself just let us know. Be aware over time the fridge will stop cooling as the motor fails completely.

Refrigerator vibrates when compresor comes on

Hi, It sounds as though the compressor has a broken valve or rod making noise internally. The compressor should be quite. You can hear them run but not enough to bother you at all. I have never heard of any of the newer ones having a compressor that supposed to be louder. Sounds as though he didn't want to do anything I don't know. I cant tell you how to check it as you would need to put a set of manifold gauges on it to see if it is working properly. If it continues, I would make another call for free of charge and have them back out! Keep me posted,

Sounds like the plastics are just rubbing from vibration. redistribute the contents of the drawer and see what that does. Good Luck.

Fridge making loud screeching sounds

Generally, in my experience, the loud screeching is caused by one of the fan motors or fan blades. There is a fan inside the cabinet (possiblle two, one on the freezer and one on the refrigerator side). Also, there is a fan underneath the unit near the compressor (probably in the back).

If the screeching is coming from underneath then pull the unit out from the wall and remove the cardboard cover at the bottom back. Now turn the unit on and check for where the screeching is coming from.

If it is the fan blade (hitting something) or the motor, you can remove these and replace them easily. UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING UNDERNEATH THE BACK OF THE REFRIGERATOR.)

Good Luck!

The fridge is not working and the frezer has a low temperature

be carefull when you remove the panel inside the frezer it may be you have a build up of ice and the panel could get frozen to the ice, best idea is to turn off the fridge/frezer for 24hrs to let it thaw

Freezer cutting on and off, not cooling

i would say it is a evaporator fan motor liocated between frezer and fresh food parts of fridge..but also could be a damper it self or damper motor
