1 Answer

It acts like it is washing and it will start I can hear water going into the dishwasher then it just stops after a min or so. Then it just sits there and does nothing when the cycle is finished the detergent really hasn't been used it is just smeared on the inside of the door and the dishes are not clean

Hi,
can you hear it draining? it will start hissing at the aerator at the sink, hopefully you have an aerator-its a small usually chrome cylinder thing next to the faucet, check this, remove the top of the aerator by pulling it straight up and off, unscrew the inner part and look in there for an obstruction. if its not clogged there look inside of the dishwasher for the float switch and make sure it clicks by lifting it up and down a couple times. if that doesent do it, go under the sink with a screwdriver and remove the drain hose(its usually black or clear) that goes up to the areator, put that in a bucket and run it again to see if it will drain for you. if it wont drain then maybe an obstruction down in the trap. the trap is serviceable, just have to study the wash arm how it unscrews then usually a few more phillips screws undoes the trap screen. if this area is clear then most likely its the timer. timers on appliances are subceptible to failure due to them being forced backwards(children), and they dont last forever, the front of the door comes off with a bunch of screws, unplug or flip breaker off first, pull timer knob off front and the big nut or screws behind the main knob have to come out to take the timer switch assembly off. if its electronic remove the circuit board and take that in to sears parts store or equivalent
good luck

I was having trouble with my Maytag Series 200 - the water was not filling at the start of the cycle. After reading your post, I checked the float switch and realized it was stuck in the highest position. I pushed the float down and started the machine again and low and behold the water began to fill. It seems so simple that when the float is stuck the sensor thinks the water level is already full. Thank you so much for the helpful information!

the float switch may be covered with a cover, remove that screw and check it. if its a GE or hotpoint and it wont fill, manually apply power to the red solenoid wire with an old lamp cord plugged into the nearest outlet. that only works with older hotpoints with a manual control knob, use that tip at your own risk.

Dishwasher not draining

It has a drain line that goes to a fitting on the garbage disposal or the sink drain if no disposal. It is held on with a hose clamp and can clog easily

DD603 top draw cycle getting stuck on 73min??????

Normally if you started the rinse cycle with water already in the base of the dishwasher it will immediately go into circulating the water through the wash arms. Do you hear the wash arms running when the washer is stuck at 11mins? Also when the washer is stuck at 73 mins are the wash arms running all the time or do you hear the pump operate at some stage?
If you have the dishwasher manual available make sure the water pressure setting is at HI or LO depending on your rated mains water pressure.

My bosch shx46a05UC/14 will not shut off. I can open the door and the dishwasher just keeps going?

Are you please able to confirm what exactly is happening when you mention "dishwasher just keeps going".

Is it in a wash cycle and throwing the water around through the wash arms or do you just hear a pump running with water sitting in the base. Most likely there is a leak into the base and the auto stop circuit is trying to empty the dishwasher by running the drain pump. I would suggest you check the base of dishwasher for leaks.

DISHWASHER GE PDW7800J00BB DOES NOT WASH ,FILLS WITH WATER BUT NO WASH

It is unclear from your description if the wash pump starts and pushes the water around but never stops cycle or the dishwasher stops as soon as the water is filled.

If you do not hear the wash pump start then it is possible the wash motor is faulty. But if the wash pump starts and never completes the wash cycle then it is possible the heater is faulty and dishwasher is waiting for water to heat up before it can go to next cycle.

See the attached diagram for location of wash pump motor and heater.

Hope this helps you find the problem. Please rate the solution if you found it useful.

Fisher and paykel nautilus. Cycle stalls with 15 mins to go. On any setting.

OK, when you say it sounds like a record skipping does that mean its washing then not washing? what cycle are you using ? sorry to ask these questions but sounds like an unusual fault.is the water hot? could be control module or pressure switch fault. please reply and we can hopefully track down this fault.

My dishwasher has water going in to it and it drains but it's not making it to the arms, my dishes are still bone dry after all cycles even pre rinse.

it appears ur wash motor is not running.try this-start the unit and let it run for 2 min( this is the water fill period) and after 2 mins u should hear motor running and water splashing sound.u can even open the door and look for water falling from the spray arms.but after 2 mins if u hear only a humming sound and no water splash sound then motor is bad and needs to be chgd.drain motor is seperate for draining the water.

Bosch SHU9915UC Dishwasher - wash cycle won't happen

hi there your dishwasher has gone into flood protection mode ie. water has leaked into the base and activated the float switch.

to try and locate the leak tip your d/w back to drain the water from the base then remove both side panels and start a program to see if you can see where the water is leaking from, being careful not to touch anything while the d/w is running as live parts are exposed

hope this is of some help
