    Hi
I wondered whether you're using your computer as a host for any kind of home network. There's a program named Octapus that works with ftp and http file transfers.
There's also one that has some connection to World of Warcraft for mouse/keyboard multiplexing.
Look in Start-Programs-All Programs and look for an Octapus folder. If it's there, hopefully there's an uninstaller in the folder.
Also Start-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs and see if it's listed. If so try uninstalling it there.
Try those first, there are other things to try but those won't hurt your machine.
Let me know what happens, and if this fixes it,would you rate my post?

Well one thing for sure that i will impress on you, run your virus scan and if you have a malware remover run that.2) remove yahoo messinger shut down machine, turn it back on . do nothing else i want you to go and download a new yahoo messinger. after that (dont get bored) shut down againg and restart. then try your yahoo messinger.

but before doing anything (any of these step run your antivirus and clean your hard drive .(try this it is free and i think it is excellant) http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner this is not in place of running your antivirus this is just an additional step or product that you can use

How do i stop my windows intaller trying to install symantec antivirus msi file

Step 1:
Stop Windows Installer From Popping Up b> The older a computer gets, the more junk it accumulates. A great number of computers out there don't start up without a thousand things popping up demanding your attention. Windows Installer is one of the more notorious pop-up offenders for Microsoft users. Stopping these pop-ups can prove challenging, however, there is a way.

On your computer's desktop, click on the "Start" tab, typically located on the bottom left of the screen (in Vista it may be the Windows symbol rather than the word "Start"). Now locate and click the program titled "Run." Vista users can locate this program by typing "run" in the search box at the bottom of the "Start" menu. Once "Run" is open, type "MSCONFIG" into the empty box and click "OK." This will open the System Configuration Utility. With the System Configuration Utility open, select the tab labeled "Services." Scroll down the list of services (it may be beneficial to click the "service" column to sort the services alphabetically) until you find the "Windows Installer" program. Now click the check box beside the Windows Installer name and click the "Disable" button at the bottom of the System Configuration. Congratulations, you have stopped "Windows Installer" from popping up!

Realy to know what to type in edit windows vista wont even start in safe mode

What is it actually doing? When you turn the power on and the computer starts up what does windows do as far as where does it stop? Most likely your start up is damaged. This is common if you did the windows upgrade versus a clean install or if there was a power surge while the computer was starting. If you don't see the Computer Manufacturer splash screen the problem is not windows at all but is the computer and we will need to isolate that. What type of computer do you have, How Much RAM memory is installed are also key elements to finding the problem. If you don't have enough RAM the Windows OS will not load properly. Typically Windows indicates a Minimum RAM level that is required but experience has taught us that in many cases double that amount is actually needed in order for it to function. On the other had, the problem could be something as simple as a driver. Windows XP drivers will not work in Windows Vista.

Cannot find map data files

Hi,

You will need a computer with an SD slot, and running Windows Xp. I tried the following method on a computer running Windows Vista, and it did not work. I tried again on an older Xp machine, and it worked first time.

  1. Put the SD (Map) card in the computer's SD slot.
  2. Open Windows "explore". (RIGHT click on "Start", then select "explore"
  3. Locate your disk on the file menu.
  4. RIGHT click on the map disk
  5. A menu pops up.
  6. At the bottom of the menu, select "properties"
  7. Another menu pops up, with several tabs along the top.
  8. Select the tab that says "tools".
  9. In the "error-checking" section, select "Check Now"
  10. Another menu pops up.
  11. Select the box that says 'Automatically fix file system errors".
  12. Click "Start"
The program will only take a few seconds to run. If it works, you will see the file directories of the SD card display on the "Explore' screen. You can then put the SD card back in the GPS, and see if it works.

Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

Im having audio problems

Go to Start and Run in the window type msconfig.exe and press enter.
a window will pop up which has many areas to configure on your pc software.
look for start-up and click the tab.
Check the software listed for any programs that also may use the audio output
if you find a program and want to stop it from automatically starting during your computers boot up.
remove the check mark from the box.
close the window and reboot your computer.
Try using your chatroom again and see if it cures your problem.
If not let me know.

Explorer problem

Hi

I suggest to restore the settings of your internet explorer to defaults. There could be bugs during your windows update.

1. Open internet explorer, go to tool --> Internet Options ---> Advanced tab ---> Reset.

Reset all the settings then restart your computer. In case you cannot open internet explorer because it will just give you a white blank page. try the following steps below.

1.1a Click Start -- type msconfig on start search box (for vista only). Click Run (for xp only). a pop up box window will show up (System utility configuration). Look for the tab Services.

Under services tab, put a check on the box that says "Hide all microsoft services" at the very bottom screen. Click apply then close. Restart the computer.

After restarting the computer follow step 1.

Keep me posted

Regards

If you have Vista, try running Windows Defender within Vista. If that does not work, Spysweeper will get it.
