If it is a push button you momentarily push it. if it is a slide switch you would move it to the left or right for a moment and let it go. that should start it up. if it's not starting the batteries may be dead or low.

Says can't read MD

This is a best guess for an odd situation.

It could be you corrupted the MD somehow and can no longer play it. Since it is a portable I had a similar instance where I played the same song many times my disc did the same thing. I may have been running and giggled it at the wrong time. It is not impossible to mung a minidisc just unlikely.

Other options are you got dust in the minidisc and it is blocking the laser. I think I would try to make another MD of the song. If it only does it with a particular disc it is the disc if it does it will all of them the laser mechanism may be wearing out and is mechanically unable to slide to follow the track. I once lubricated the worm gear which moved the laser in an old portable which solved a similar situation.

Can you repaire sr-70?

To be honest it probably is not cost effictive to repair any but the most expensive MD decks.

I'd suggest you look for a working twin to yours on ebay and buy it.

I spent $350 to get a high end MD deck repaired and the repair only lasted six months. This is even more true with portables.

Watch out for any portable with odd rechargable batteries, there are several legendary protables which cannot be used as the batteries have not been made in years. Replacements if found are overly expensive and probably old, used replacements have little life left in them.

Turn down mega bass

test the amplifier.God bless you
t is overheating due to power issues. Check your power ratings to be sure they match the amplifier's specifications. There is a problem with the amplifier. If the power ratings are correct, the amplifier needs to be sent to a service center.

Can't find charger for sharp mdms 722

They are all over eBay, and you can get one at any electronics store or hardware store. Just be sure to match the power needed (it is printed on your Sharp), the plug and the polarity. They go for $8-15.

MD Error Message

I'm sorry this isn't much help, but I had the same problem with my 702 unit. From what I've read it's very common with this model - Sharp claims to have remedied the error with their 831 unit. Luckily, when I had this problem, my recorder was still under warranty and I have to say that Sharp fixed it promptly and returned it to me. Have you tried contacting them? Since it's a design flaw, they might be amenable to working something out with you...
