My egg poacher stopped working after about 18 months. I carefully took it apart while unplugged from the wall. I gently jiggled and slid the wires going to and from the egg cooker and the pc board they were plugged into. I did not force the wires (that can break them). Sometimes oxidation can occur on metal connections, so the jiggling may have made a better connection.
As a precaution, I also roughened the toaster slide button copper connections. Bare copper corrodes easily, so I thought this was a good idea to do while I had it apart. I doubt it was the problem, though, since the toaster part still worked.
Then I verified it was working again and put it all back together.
