Lens cap not on

when i turn the camera on it reads lens cap on, when the cap is off.

I had the same problem. There is a part that is made by sony, aparantly, and it is faulty and is covered under warranty. I am told the warranty does not run out. So I suggest you contact your nearest JVC repairer.
