I want to add coolant directly to radiator. too low to run engine and use resevoir for filler

Assuming you have no visible leeks I would add neat antifreeze for the correct frost protection you want then top up with water, run the engine with the heater on and allow the engine to reach running tempature before checking coolant level some systems have bleed screws in upper parts of hoses to vent air you may need to do this while the engine is coming to tempature or the water will not circulate fully if the heater puts out warm /hot air you know it has reached the metrix of the heater. Allow to cool before removing radiator cap and check level this can be done by squeezing the upper radiator hose and see the water move in resavoir, take care don't rush may need several bleeds.

Pilot and burner light then gas shut off model 7900

How many degrees before it reaches desired temp, does it shut off? A thermostat is designed to shut the furnace off a couple/ few degrees before it reaches set temp. It has what is called a heat anticipater, which shuts the burner down, and lets the blower use the remaining heat from the heat exchanger to bring it up to desired temp making it more efficient. If it is more than a few degrees, replace the thermostat. You can jump out the red and white wires to confirm the faulty thermostat. If by doing this, the furnace never shuts down, until you separate the red and white wires. That confirms a faulty thermostat. Hope this helps someone.

It says if my ECO has tripped the water tempature has exceeded 200F. What would cause the tempature to reach 200F

Question posted under Rheem tank-type gas water heater.
Model number and gas valve are unknown.

Open following link to see typical ECOs:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Intellivent-ECO-900.jpg
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Typical-gas-valve-500.jpg

The ECO will trip at 180-200 degrees F.
This happens when the thermostat fails, then the burner stays on, and the water will continue heating.

With most water heaters, the ECO is one-time use device and the gas control valve is replaced.
Some water heaters have resettable ECO, but the overheating problem has to be solved.
Each water heater is different.
Contact Rheem or read manual for correct procedure.

If you have intellivent gas control valve, open following links for typical service manual:

See if the thermostat wires are pinched somewhere, becouse if the red and wight wires are touching it will call continuously,if there not touching somewhere you have a bad thermostat and need to replace it.

Oven shuts down before reaching correct temperature

You will need to check the oven calibration using a thermocouple based thermometer(the one you stick in the oven is not reliable). Electric ovens should keep a near constant tempature so if you have it set to 350 the oven should stay around 350 once temp is reached. Now gas ovens are a little different. Most use a on/off thermostat and that means the temp can vary from 320 degrees to 370 degrees to keep an average tempature of 350. So if it is a gas oven you will need to let it warm-up for 10 minutes then start taking the lowest and highest 5 consectutive readings. Then add the 5 reads together and then divide the number by 5 and it should be within 10 degrees of the set tempature. If it is off by more than 50 degrees then you might not be able to get it back to proper calibration. The calibration methods are different for each range and depend on the type of thermostat you have digital(push button controls) or manual(knob). The owner's manual for your range might contain the instructions or consult the manufacture's website for the instructions.

Heater blowing cold air, 4 babies really need heat....

Your heater core could be blocked. Check the hoses going to it on the inside of the engine compartment. There will be 2 5/8' heater hoses going into firewall adjacent to one another. The tempature of these hoses should be almost the same after your van has reached normal operating tempature and your temp select switch is on hot(heat). If not it's a good idication your heater core may have some blockage in it. You would then have to flush it out or replace it. Hope that helps.
