Hi. You need a speaker splitter. Please click here to see the picture. You can connect the male connector to your computer speaker out then connect your LCD speaker to the female connector and the computer speaker on the other.

You can get a line splitter at Radio Shack,WalMart,BestBuy,Compusa etc. Just tell them you need a PC audio line splitter, they'll know what you mean. And they don't cost very much,$3-$4.Radio Shack will be the most expensive. You plug the male end into your audio board, and the male end from each set of speakers into the female end on the splitter. There's a link to a picture below.
If this helps, would you please rate my post?
Thanks

The green port on the back of your computer is for small speakers, this is the one mostly used. If you have subwoofer connect it to the orange port. The black port is used if you have surround speakers. The white port is for side surround speaker.
This is the integrated or built in sound card. If you have add on sound card then you need to use that instead. You can get the manual of your computer by clicking on this link.

Does this monitor w1907 have built in speakers? If so how can it be hooked up?

it doesn't have built-in speaker, you can use a sound bar or a regular speaker and connect it to the audio port available on your computer

HOW DO I HOOK UP THE SPEAKERS TO MY DELL COMPUTER?

If you look at the back of the PC, you will find a plate with three Small sockets, pink for mic, blue for speakers and black for line out. Do not go by these colors strictly as they could be different depending on the make but you would also find "mic in", "Speakers" and "Line Out" written on them. Connect the speakers pin to the Speakers hole. And you can then start using them.

How to use speakers

If your monitor has built in speakers then there should be a small jack in the back, usually green in color. You would need to run an audio cable from the monitor to the proper jack on the back of your computer, usually the green color like on the monitor. Once connected you should be able to use the volume button on the monitor to adjust to your preference. But remember external speakers are usually a higher quality than those built in to the monitor. Hope this helps.

Speaker trouble

There has to be separate cord for the speakers. Look for an Audio port on the back of the monitor. It looks like a small hole and should be marked "Audio". Connect this to the Audio out on the PC using a cable with two Audio jacks at both ends.

I was given a 2003 Acer AL1916 monitor and came home and hooked it up to my old Compaq presario computer. The screen is fine but the audio is barely audible. I had speakers hooked to the side of my old...

The speakers are not supposed to plug into the monitor, they will plug into the speaker jack on the back of your computer (usually a green plug or it will have a picture of a speaker next to it)
Hope this helps
Good Luck!

Speakers

You have to check and see if you have audio jacks on the rear of your computer. They are small round jacks colored one pink, one green, and one black. Then you have to have a set of powered speakers to connect to these jacks. Check the users guide for your computer on how to connect each connector.

Crap sound from swisstec 19" LCD TV

you could try the scart socket for audio out ,it could be worth a try.
A scart to phono adaptor would let you connect to your amplified spaekers but would only give a fixed audio level,
ie you could not adjust the sound via the tv remote control
be careful if you connect any speakers to the tvs speakers you could damage the audio op stage on the tv ,
