This is normally a automatic defrost system problem.
Check the back of the freezer panel for frost buildup
There should be no ice build up on any panels in the freezer.
You will need a tech if it is.

My rifrigerator isn't cold inside, the lights still work and I can hear the motor kick on, but everything is defrosting in the freezer and the refigerator isn't cold anymore. Is there anything I need to...

Hi,
What you think is the motor turning on probably is the motor trying to run and not being able too.
To correctly diagnose and fix this you will need specialized tools and a repair person is the ones that can tell exactly what the problem is.
Give them a call...and check to make sure that you are not still under a warranty.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Freezer is cold emnough, it's the refrigerator

Hi..

If your refrigerator is not cold enough you need to check this

  • Check the temperature setting
  • Assure that there is enough room for air flow in the refrigerator or freezer
  • Check for air flow restrictions in vents
  • Test the temperature control
  • Clean the condensor coils
  • Check the door seals
  • Test the door switch
  • Test defrost heater
  • Test defrost timer
  • Test evaporator fan
  • Check for a clogged drain tube
  • Check for refrigerant leak

Hope it may helpful for you!!!

Roper fridge is not cold enough now.

Check the back wall of the freezer.
Is it iced up?
If yes, replace the defrost parts.

Overfilling ice tray with water

Does the water eventually stop flowing? If not, your solenoid valve is sticking open and defective. If you also have ice and water through the door, this is a dual solenoid valve. If it does eventually stop, your ice maker could be sticking in fill mode. Either way this could be a potential for a flood. I would recommend replacing both.
