There are quite a few things you can do. If you just got it yesterday and you havent loaded it up with your library i would try resetting it by holding home and sleep button for 8 seconds.
if that doesnt work follow the how to set up wifi on the itouch guide on apple by clicking this link http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
everything you need should be in that article. If you still cant get it. Let me know and i will be glad to assist you further. If the steps provided please feel free to rate this solution. thanks and have a great day- Midwest-tek

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Will not recharge. screen absolutely blank and no

The problem can be in one of two places:

1: the power source (computer, wall charger, whatever you're using to charge)

2: your iTouch

If you have a second charger, or car charger, or can borrow a friend's charger, try using that first. If you're able to get the green "Charging" battery with an alternate charger, then your iTouch is fine and you just need a new (cheap!) charger for it.

If your iTouch still doesn't charge with a known-good charger, then your best bet is to find the closest Apple Store and take it in for testing there. When my iTouch stopped connecting to WiFi networks, they tested it to verify the problem and handed me a new replacement on the spot.

Good luck, and let me know if this helped!

Itouch won't connect to my wireless internet

I had exactly the same problem with a brand new 3rd gen iTouch. It showed it was connected to the network but wouldn't access anything (invalid argument etc). I tried everything but no joy. Eventually I fixed it by changing the router's encryption from WEP to WPA2-PSK. Fixed it like magic. Where there had been no router or DNA data before, they were suddenly filled in. The key was different but was still on the bottom of the router. I had to re-enter the key on my wireless laptop2_bing.gif but that was a small price.

You can get into the router set-up page through your web browser. I found a guide on You Tube.

Good luck!

My itouch won't connect to my wireless network

This happened to me as well. Turned out the iPod touch doesn't support WEP encryption properly, and sometimes can't log onto those networks.

If your network is WEP-encrypted, try changing it to WPA.

Itouch Connection To Home Broadband

Hi, for DNS use the following information:

Primary DNS 4.2.2.2
Sec DNS 4.2.2.1

Password prompted by Itouch is the WEP password. Make sure tht you restart the itouch and then try to connect to it.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

My itouch won't connect with my wireless network in my home. I have a Netgear router. My ITouch has been working (connecting) for over 6 monts without any problems. Nothing has been changed. All other...

I would turn your itouch on and tap the top bar where the battery and signal show.
a screen will pop down and show your wireless connection. tap it ans check your settings.
make sure you renew lease on your wireless and use the wep code which is on the label of your wireless router.
you should have signal now

good luck

Wifi connection & itouch

I finally discovered the problem. I have a Linksys wireless
router, so when I tried to log on with my iTouch, I got the
message "Unable to join network "my network name" when
I typed in my password. One day, after many trys, I tried
typing in the network security key for my router, and Voila,
it worked. For some unknown reason (to me), the iTouch
recognizes the the network security key as the password.
